1. Attosecond Wave Packet Metrology
Abstract : Attosecond pulses allow the study of electrons on their natural timescale. They are created from the interaction of atoms with ultrashort, intense laser pulses whose electric field approaches the strength of inner-atomic electric fields. This thesis presents experiments around the generation, characterization and application of attosecond pulses. READ MORE

2. Attosecond Optical and Electronic Wave Packets
Abstract : When a low-frequency laser pulse is focused to a high intensity in a gas, the electric field of the laser may become comparable to, or even exceed, the electric field between the electrons and the nucleus in the atom. Under such conditions, through a process known as high-order harmonic generation, bursts of extreme ultraviolet radiation may be emitted, with durations in the attosecond domain (1 as = 10^{-18} s), which is the time-scale of electronic processes. 3. Attosecond Electron Wave Packet Interferences
Abstract : Attosecond pulses offer a new route to produce temporally localized electron wave packets (EWPs) that can easily be tailored by altering the properties of the attosecond pulses. In this thesis we will present different experiments, supported by theory, where attosecond EWPs are created in presence of a strong infrared (IR) field. READ MORE

4. Grid Connected Three-Level Converters : Studies for Wave Energy Conversion
Abstract : This thesis presents an electrical system analysis of a wave energy converter (WEC) for the objective of grid connection. To transfer the enormous amount of power from waves to the load centers, efficient power electronic systems are essential. READ MORE

5. Non-Linear Spatio-Temporal Dynamics of Optical Beams and Pulses in Kerr and Ionizable Media
Abstract : The present thesis includes results of several investigations concerning the propagation of optical pulses in optical fibers and spatio-temporal beams in optical Kerr media and ionizable media. Both numerical and analytical methods play an important role in the investigations. READ MORE
