  1. 1. Varying data quality and effects in economic analysis and planning

University dissertation from Stockholm : Economic Research Institute, Stockholm School of Economics [Ekonomiska forskningsinstitutet vid Handelshögsk.] (EFI)

Abstract : Economic statistics are often taken as given facts, assumed to describe exactly, actual phenomena in society. Many economic series are published in various forms from preliminary, via revisions to definitive estimates. Preliminary series are issued for a number of central economic processes in order to allow for rapid, up-to-date signals. READ MORE

Abstract : A challenge for the clinical management of Parkinson's disease (PD) is the large within- and between-patient variability in symptom profiles as well as the emergence of motor complications which represent a significant source of disability in patients. This thesis deals with the development and evaluation of methods and systems for supporting the management of PD by using repeated measures, consisting of subjective assessments of symptoms and objective assessments of motor function through fine motor tests (spirography and tapping), collected by means of a telemetry touch screen device. 3. 3. Decoding the complex brain multivariate and multimodal analyses of neuroimaging data

University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå University

Author : Alireza Salami; Umeå universitet.; [2012]

Abstract : Functional brain images are extraordinarily rich data sets that reveal distributed brain networks engaged in a wide variety of cognitive operations. It is a substantial challenge both to create models of cognition that mimic behavior and underlying cognitive processes and to choose a suitable analytic method to identify underlying brain networks. 4. 4. New Techniques for Building Timing-Predictable Embedded Systems

University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

Author : Nan Guan; Uppsala universitet.; Uppsala universitet.; [2013]

Abstract : Embedded systems are becoming ubiquitous in our daily life. Due to close interaction with physical world, embedded systems are typically subject to timing constraints. At design time, it must be ensured that the run-time behaviors of such systems satisfy the pre-specified timing constraints under any circumstance. READ MORE

  5. 5. Computer based statistical treatment in models with incidental parameters inspired by car crash data

University dissertation from Linköping : Linköpings universitet

Abstract : Bootstrap and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods have received much attention in recent years. We study computer intensive methods that can be used in complex situations where it is not possible to express the likelihood estimates or the posterior analytically. The work is inspired by a set of car crash data from real traffic. READ MORE
