    Abstract : A challenge for the clinical management of Parkinson's disease (PD) is the large within- and between-patient variability in symptom profiles as well as the emergence of motor complications which represent a significant source of disability in patients. This thesis deals with the development and evaluation of methods and systems for supporting the management of PD by using repeated measures, consisting of subjective assessments of symptoms and objective assessments of motor function through fine motor tests (spirography and tapping), collected by means of a telemetry touch screen device. 2. 2. Decoding the complex brain multivariate and multimodal analyses of neuroimaging data

    University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå University

    Author : Alireza Salami; Umeå universitet.; [2012]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; multivariate analysis; univariate analysis; multimodal imaging; episodic memory; aging; functional magnetic resonance imaging; diffusion tensor imaging; biology; biologi; Psychology; psykologi; Computerized Image Analysis; datoriserad bildanalys;

    Abstract : Functional brain images are extraordinarily rich data sets that reveal distributed brain networks engaged in a wide variety of cognitive operations. It is a substantial challenge both to create models of cognition that mimic behavior and underlying cognitive processes and to choose a suitable analytic method to identify underlying brain networks. 3. 3. New Techniques for Building Timing-Predictable Embedded Systems

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Nan Guan; Uppsala universitet.; Uppsala universitet.; [2013]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Real-time systems; WCET analysis; cache analysis; abstract interpretation; multiprocessor scheduling; fixed-priority scheduling; EDF; multi-core processors; response time analysis; utilization bound; real-time calculus; scalability; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot realtidssystem; Computer Science with specialization in Real Time Systems;

    Abstract : Embedded systems are becoming ubiquitous in our daily life. Due to close interaction with physical world, embedded systems are typically subject to timing constraints. At design time, it must be ensured that the run-time behaviors of such systems satisfy the pre-specified timing constraints under any circumstance. READ MORE

  4. 4. Computer based statistical treatment in models with incidental parameters inspired by car crash data

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Author : Anna Vadeby; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2003]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; 812 Road: Collation of accident statistics; 812 Road: Collation of accident statistics; Mathematical model; Accident; Statistics; Analysis; Driver; Characteristics;

    Abstract : Bootstrap and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods have received much attention in recent years. We study computer intensive methods that can be used in complex situations where it is not possible to express the likelihood estimates or the posterior analytically. The work is inspired by a set of car crash data from real traffic. READ MORE

  5. 5. Requirements Prioritisation and Retrospective Analysis for Release Planning Process Improvement

    University dissertation from Department of Communication Systems, Lund University

    Author : Lena Karlsson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2006]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systems engineering; Empirical research; Process improvement; Retrospective analysis; Release planning; Requirements engineering; Software engineering; Data- och systemvetenskap; computer technology;

    Abstract : The quality of a product can be defined by its ability to satisfy the needs and expectations of its customers. Achieving quality is especially difficult in market-driven situations since the product is released on an open market with numerous potential customers and users with various wishes. READ MORE
