  1. 1. Synchrophasor based Steady State Model Synthesis of Active Distribution Networks

    Author : Farhan Mahmood; Luigi Vanfretti; Francisco Gonzalez-Longatt; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Active distribution networks; phasor measurement units; model synthesis; real-time simulation; hardware-in-the-loop.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : With the increased penetration of distributed energy resources (DERs) at lower voltage levels, distribution networks (DNs) are being transformed into active grids. This has led to a paradigm shift in the operation, planning and control of DNs. READ MORE

  2. 2. Longitudinal Force Distribution and Road Vehicle Handling

    Author : Matthijs Klomp; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ehicle dynamics; quasi steady-state; drive force; combined grip; longitudinal force distribution; combined slip; vehicle handling; optimization;

    Abstract : The distribution of longitudinal forces has a large influence on vehicle handling characteristics such as the driver/vehicle interaction, road holding and yaw stability, in particular during combined traction/braking and cornering near the grip limit of the tires. In order to select and develop suitable driveline systems and associated active control that provide consistent driver/vehicle handling, maximum road holding and sufficient yaw stability margins, it is essential to understand the influence of a particular drive force distribution on these handling characteristics. 3. 3. Automatic Reduction Procedures for Chemical Mechanisms in Reactive Systems

    Author : Terese Lövås; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mechanism Reduction; Combustion; Physics; Emissions; Fysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Lövås;

    Abstract : To deal with complex physical and chemical processes in reactive systems, such as combustion processes, it is necessary to find methods that simplify modelling in such a way that it becomes both more comprehensible and practically useful. In the work reported here a method for automatically reducing chemical reaction mechanisms has been developed for use in computer simulations of various combustion systems. READ MORE

  4. 4. Homogeneous Ignition - Chemical Kinetic Studies for IC-Engine Applications

    Author : Per Amnéus; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Skeletal mechanism; Mechanism reduction; n-heptane; iso-octane; formaldehyde; methane; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; Physics; Fysik; Detailed chemistry; Kinetic calculations; Engine knock; Homogeneous charge compression ignition; HCCI; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Amnéus;

    Abstract : Calculations on a Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine have been performed. Zero-dimensional models were used. The simplest model compressed the gas to auto-ignition, using temperature and pressure at a certain crank angle position obtained from engine experiments. READ MORE

  5. 5. Non-Equilibrium Charge Motion in Organic Solar Cells

    Author : Armantas Melianas; Olle Inganäs; Martijn Kemerink; Jenny Nelson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices based on semiconducting polymers and small molecules allow for a low cost alternative to inorganic solar cells. Recent developments show power conversion efficiencies as high as 10-12%, highlighting the potential of this technology. Nevertheless, further improvements are necessary to achieve commercialization.
