  1. 1. Copper(II) Azido Complexes: Synthesis, X-ray structures, thermal and magnetic properties

    Author : Al-Shimaà A A Massoud; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cu II complexes; bridging µ1; quinoxaline; 2; pyrazinetetrazolate; quinolinecarboxylate; 1–N3; 5-dimethylpyrazine; ferromagnetic interactions;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on the synthesis and X-ray structure analysis of seven copper(II) and one cobalt(II) azido coordination polymer with quinoline and pyrazine derivatives as bridging co-ligands. The synthesis of these complexes were done by direct mixing of the metal salt (Cu(NO3)2 and CoCl2) and the organic ligand (pyrazinecarbonitrile, quinoxaline, quinoline-4-carboxylic acid and 2,5-dimethylpyrazine) solutions followed by the dropwise addition of aqueous sodium azide (NaN3) with continuous stirring. 2. 2. A biophysical study of nucleic acid interactions with analogues and drugs

    Author : Ulrica Sehlstedt; Donald M Crothers; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nucleic acids; binding modes; polarised light spectroscopy; linear dichroism; NMR; triple helix; base-pair breathing dynamics; DAPI; porphyrins; quinoxaline derivatives; Biophysics; Biofysik; Biophysics; biofysik;

    Abstract : work presented in this thesis concerns studies on the physicochemical nature of interactions between nucleic acids and small ligands. The outcome of such studies can yield insights at a molecular level into the physiological mechanisms of action of biologically active nucleic-acid binding molecules. READ MORE

  3. 3. Stability of Bulk-heterojunction blends for Solar Cell Applications

    Author : Camilla Lindqvist; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanostructure; PCBM crystallisation; bulk-heterojunction; Polymer solar cells; stability;

    Abstract : Polymer solar cells are a promising alternative to more traditional silicon solar cells. This is mainly due to the good solubility of organic semiconductors, which makes it possible to produce large-scale and mechanically flexible devices with roll-to-roll processes. READ MORE

  4. 4. Morphology and material stability in polymer solar cells

    Author : Rickard Hansson; Ellen Moons; Andreas Opitz; Mats Fahlman; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polymer solar cell; photovoltaics; morphology; photo-degradation; conjugated polymer; fullerene; synchroton-based techniques; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : Polymer solar cells are promising in that they are inexpensive to produce, and due to their mechanical flexibility have the potential for use in applications not possible for more traditional types of solar cells. The performance of polymer solar cells depends strongly on the distribution of electron donor and acceptor material in the active layer. READ MORE
