  1. 1. Model Reduction Using Semidefinite Programming

    Author : Aivar Sootla; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; semidefinite programming; model reduction; convex optimization;

    Abstract : In this thesis model reduction methods for linear time invariant systems are investigated. The reduced models are computed using semidefinite programming. Two ways of imposing the stability constraint are considered. However, both approaches add a positivity constraint to the program. READ MORE

  2. 2. Do You Have a TV? : Negotiating Swedish Public Service through 1950's Programming, "Americanization," and Domesticity

    Author : Tove Thorslund; Jan Olsson; Pelle Snickars; Mats Björkin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; television history; cultural history; public service; 1950s; television programming; intermediality; simulcast; program format; transnational; Americanization; domesticity; television set as furniture; everyday life; filmvetenskap; Cinema Studies;

    Abstract : This dissertation presents a cultural history of early Swedish television. The focus is on the investigation of 1950s programming, intermedial connections, processes of “Americanization,” and domestic, socio-cultural change in direct relation to the new medium. READ MORE

  3. 3. Extracting versatility : Films commissioned by the mining industry in postwar Sweden

    Author : Ole Johnny Fossås; Marina Dahlquist; Bo Florin; Zoë Druick; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; film history; swedish film; sponsored film; industrial film; useful cinema; mining; Sápmi; non-theatrical film; public service television; film distribution; the Swedish Film Institute; Radio Sweden; documentary film; film policy; filmhistoria; beställningsfilm; svensk film; industrifilm; informationsfilm; Sápmi; gruvindustrin; Svenska Filminstitutet; Sveriges Radio; Cinema Studies; filmvetenskap;

    Abstract : This study investigates how films commissioned by Swedish mining companies were employed for institutional use between 1945 and 1965. A central aspect of what gave these films their versatility stems from circumstances that allowed commissioned texts to pass as non-partisan audiovisual aids, as educational and informative instruments and as occasional examples of film art through intermediaries. 4. 4. Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Radio Propagation Channels : Characteristics and Models

    Author : Kai Yu; Björn Ottersten; David Gesbert; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; Signalbehandling; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Abstract : In recent years, deploying multiple antennas at both transmitter and receiver has appeared as a very promising technology. By exploiting the spatial domain, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems can support extremely high data rates as long as the environments can provide sufficiently rich scattering. READ MORE

  5. 5. On Adjacent Channel Interference-Aware Radio Resource Management for Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication

    Author : Anver Hisham Unnichiriyath Siddique; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; scheduling; adjacent channel interference ACI ; vehicle-to- vehicle V2V ; channel state information CSI ; convex optimization; LTE; vehicle-to-everything V2X ; combinatorial optimization; traffic efficiency; 3GPP; medium access control MAC ; power control; radio resource management RRM ;

    Abstract : Safety applications play an essential role in supporting traffic safety and efficiency in next generation vehicular networks. Typical safety applications require vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication with high reliability and low latency. READ MORE
