  1. 1. Indirect Radiohalogenation of Targeting Proteins : Labelling Chemistry and Biological Characterisation

    Author : Anna Orlova; Hans Lundqvist; Jörgen Carlsson; Lars Gedda; Jacek Capala; D.Scott Wilbur; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; radiohalogenation; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Biomedical Radiation Science; biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Abstract : In about half of all newly diagnosed cancer cases, conventional treatment is not adequately curative, mainly due to the failure of conventional techniques to find and kill residual cells and metastases, which might consist of only a few malignant cells, without causing unacceptable complications to healthy tissue. To solve the problem a more selective delivery of cytotoxic substances to tumour cells is needed. READ MORE

  2. 2. Radiohalogenation of biomolecules : An experimental study on radiohalogen preparation, precursor synthesis, radiolabeling and biodistribution

    Author : Jacek Koziorowski; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : Radiohalogens are widely used in nuclear medicine, both as tool for diagnostic in vivo imaging and inradionuclide therapy. This study deals with the use of radiohalogens; separation, precursor synthesis, labeling and biological behavior. READ MORE

  3. 3. Astatine-211 and Iodine Conjugates: Radiohalogenation and Preclinical Pharmacokinetics for Targeted and Pretargeted Radioimmunotherapy

    Author : Sture Lindegren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; radioimmunotherapy; antibodies; dry-distillation; radiohalogenation; pretargeting; iodine; astatine-211;

    Abstract : Endoradiotherapy using labelled tumour specific-monoclonal antibodies in the therapy of malignant disease is a therapeutic modality that is coming of age. While clearly defined tumours can be treated with surgery and/or chemotherapy, occult metastases requires adjuvant systemic treatment, e.g. READ MORE

  4. 4. On the Use of 76Br-labelled Monoclonal Antibodies for PET : Preclinical Evaluation of Halogenated Antibodies for Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer

    Author : Johanna Höglund; Katrine Riklund-Åhlström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; bromine-76; positron emission tomography; monoclonal antibodies; cancer; direct and indirect radiohalogenation; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; radiologi; Radiology;

    Abstract : Radioactive substances are used in vivo to localize and characterize malignant tumours, generally by scintigraphic methods. In this context positron emission tomography (PET) in combination with radiolabelled monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) may provide a sensitive and specific method for detection of cancer. READ MORE

  5. 5. Carborane Derivatives for Nuclide Therapy and Imaging : Synthesis and Radio-labelling

    Author : Karl Johan Winberg; Stefan Sjöberg; Kálmán Szabó; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis describes synthesis and radiohalogenation of closo-carborane and nido-carborate derivatives for application in nuclide therapy and imaging. The work could be divided in to four sections. READ MORE
