1. Chiral recognition on cellulases : The active sites of the enzymes are involved
Abstract : Two cellobiohydrolases (CBH I and CBH II) and endoglucanase I (EG I) fromTrichoderma reesei, and CBH 58 from Phanerochaete chrysosporium were immobilized onsilica as chiral stationary phases (CSPs) in HPLC for enantioseparation of a group ofpharmaceutical compounds. CBH I and CBH 58 wore excellent chiral selectors for β-adrenergic blocking agents, whereas CBH II displayed good enantioselectivity for someother compounds The CBHs share the common feature that their active sites are located intunnels. 2. Protein folding, stability and recognition
Abstract : Proteins make up for most of the dry mass of a cell and they are highly involved in virtually all cellular processes. The importance of the proteins is reflected by frequent association between dysfunctional proteins and diseases. Proteins have also wide applications in industries. READ MORE

3. Molecular recognition and dynamics in proteins studied by NMR
Abstract : Knowledge of dynamics in protein is very important in the description of protein function and molecular recognition. The thesis investigates protein dynamics on time-scales from milli- to sub-nanosecond, with focus on the latter, using NMR spin relaxation experiments on two proteins, the 138-residue carbohydrate recognition domain of galectin-3 (Gal3C) and the 56-residue B1 domain of bacterial protein G (PGB1). 4. Towards the Rational Design of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers
Abstract : Molecular imprinting is a technique by which polymeric materials selective for a given target molecule can be created through a casting procedure. Functionalised monomers are added to a solution of molecular templates. READ MORE

5. Pattern Recognition Methods for Oral Lesion Classification using Digital Color Images
Abstract : The present thesis addresses the development and application of pattern recognition methods for classification of oral lesions using digital color images as input. The human oral cavity is a site of numerous diseases and two of the common and visually similar lesions are oral leukoplakia and oral lichenoid reactions. READ MORE
