11. On the Ionospheric Influence on GNSS Radio Occultation Signals : Modelling and Assessment
Abstract : Radio Occultation (RO) is a well-established remote sensing technique that uses Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals to sound the Earth’s atmosphere. GNSS-RO measurements provide high-resolution, vertical profiles of physical parameters from the lower atmosphere (troposphere and stratosphere), e.g. READ MORE

12. Supervised and Unsupervised Deep Learning Models for Flood Detection
Abstract : Human civilization has an increasingly powerful influence on the earthsystem. Affected by climate change and land-use change, floods are occurringacross the globe and are expected to increase in the coming years. Currentsituations urge more focus on efficient monitoring of floods and detecting impactedareas. READ MORE

13. Deep Learning for Active Fire Detection Using Multi-Source Satellite Image Time Series
Abstract : In recent years, climate change and human activities have caused increas- ing numbers of wildfires. Earth observation data with various spatial and temporal resolutions have shown great potential in detecting and monitoring wildfires. READ MORE

14. Mobile systems for monitoring Parkinson's disease
Abstract : A challenge for the clinical management of Parkinson's disease (PD) is the large within- and between-patient variability in symptom profiles as well as the emergence of motor complications which represent a significant source of disability in patients. This thesis deals with the development and evaluation of methods and systems for supporting the management of PD by using repeated measures, consisting of subjective assessments of symptoms and objective assessments of motor function through fine motor tests (spirography and tapping), collected by means of a telemetry touch screen device. 15. Disentangling sociomateriality : an exploration of remote monitoring systems in interorganizational networks
Abstract : Firmly placed in an industrial setting, this research explored the introduction of remote monitoring technology into three different organizational contexts. By following these organizations over time, starting with their intention to invest in remote monitoring systems (RMS), there was a unique opportunity to witness their processes and to gain an insight into the intricacies of information technology (IT) and organizational transformation.
