  1. 1. Rigid Body Ship Dynamics

    Author : Martin Alexandersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Inverse dynamics; Extended Kalman filter; Ship digital twin; Ship manoeuvring; RTS smoother; Multicollinearity; System identification;

    Abstract : It is common today that operational data is recorded onboard ships within the Internet of Ships (IoS) paradigm. This enables the possibility to build ship digital twins as digital copies of the real ships. Predicting the ship’s motions with ship dynamics could be an important sub-component of these ship digital twins. READ MORE

  2. 2. Multidimensional MRI of Cardiac Motion : Acquisition, Reconstruction and Visualization

    Author : Andreas Sigfridsson; Hans Knutsson; Stefan Skare; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MRI; cardiac; motion; reconstruction; Image analysis; Bildanalys;

    Abstract : Methods for measuring deformation and motion of the human heart in-vivo are crucial in the assessment of cardiac function. Applications ranging from basic physiological research, through early detection of disease to follow-up studies, all benefit from improved methods of measuring the dynamics of the heart. READ MORE

  3. 3. Structure and Motion Estimation in Rigid Body Perspective Dynamic Systems

    Author : Fredrik Nyberg; Matematikcentrum; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Abstract This thesis concerns different aspects of recursive estimation of structure and motion in dynamic rigid body perspective systems, where the three-dimensional position of observed object feature points are expressed as states in a system of deterministic or stochastic differential equations describing the object motion, combined with a set of output equations in the form of two-dimensional perspective measurements obtained using a single camera. Firstly, a number of novel hybrid matching constraints are derived for the recovery of motion parameters in a rigid body perspective system where the measurements can be considered as arriving at closely spaced time instants. 4. 4. Estimating Human Limb Motion Using Skin Texture and Particle Filtering

    Author : Björn Holmberg; Håkan Lanshammar; Virgil Stokes; Christopher L. Vaughan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Human motion analysis; Skin texture; Monte Carlo estimation; Particle filter; Mutual Information; Simulated Annealing; Marker-free; Rigid body transformation; 2D correlation; Systems engineering; Systemteknik;

    Abstract : Estimating human motion is the topic of this thesis. We are interested in accurately estimating the motion of a human body using only video images capturing the subject in motion. Video images from up to two cameras are considered.The first main topic of the thesis is to investigate a new type of input data. READ MORE

  5. 5. How to Reduce Geometrical Variation in Assembled Products

    Author : Johan Carlson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; assembled products; body-in-white BIW ; dimensional variation; geometrical variation; fixtures; fixture diagnosis; locating schemes; multivariate analysis; rigid body motion; robust design; root cause; quality; root cause;

    Abstract : Vehicle problems, such as wind noise, water leakage and door closing effort are examples of quality and functionality defects that are controlled by the dimensional accuracy of the structural frame of an auto body. The aim of this thesis is towards methods for reducing geometrical variation in assembled products in the automotiv other industries. READ MORE
