1. A study of some energy dependent characteristics of X-ray screens used in diagnostic radiology : screen-film sensitivity, MTF and some related factors
Abstract : Fluorescent x-ray screens are used in medical x-ray diagnostics to absorb x-ray photons and convert these x-ray photons to visible light. The light distribution from these screens are then registered on photographic film to give an x-ray image. READ MORE

2. Solar Shading for Low Energy Use and Daylight Quality in Offices: Simulations, Measurements and Design Tools
Abstract : This thesis investigates the impact of solar shading devices on energy use and daylight quality in office rooms. The impact on energy use is analysed through computer simulations with the dynamic energy simulation program Derob-LTH while the impact on daylight quality is investigated through measurements in full-scale experimental office rooms and simulations with the program Radiance. 3. DEM Modelling of Vibratory Screens
Abstract : In Sweden, about 100 million tons of aggregate is used for road, railway, and concrete every year. Crushing is the main process for producing aggregate material in different fractions. The production process is divided into two sub-processes: comminution or size reduction and classification. READ MORE

4. Zebrafish models for large-scale genetic screens in dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis : Validation and application
Abstract : Hundreds of loci have been robustly associated with circulating lipids, atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease; but for most loci the causal genes and mechanisms remain uncharacterized. The overall aim of my thesis is to develop and validate novel in vivo model systems that are suitable for high-throughput, image-based genetic screens in coronary artery disease and related traits, and use these model systems to systematically characterize positional candidate genes. 5. Functional Screens Identify Vulnerabilities in Acute Leukemia
Abstract : Acute leukemia refers to a group of aggressive hematological malignancies of myeloid and lymphoid lineages termed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL) respectively. Acute leukemia is characterized by the presence of underlying genetic aberrations which alter the biology of normal hematopoietic cells resulting in the accumulation of immature abnormally differentiated blast cells.
