1. Particle Deposition Studies in a Laminar Wall Jet - The Hydrodynamic Influence on the Kinetics of Colloidal Deposition
Abstract : In the research area of cleaning and process hygiene it is important to understand the underlying mechanisms behind the deposition of particles and macromolecules onto surfaces. The deposition process is described as the transport of particles to the surface followed by attachment. READ MORE

2. Insulin secretion and ASNA-1-dependent function of the endoplasmic reticulum in C. elegans
Abstract : ASNA1 is a well-conserved ATPase involved in a wide range of functions, including cisplatin resistance, growth control, insulin secretion and targeting of tail-anchored (TA) proteins to membranes. It is a positive regulator of insulin secretion both in the roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans and in humans. READ MORE

3. Theoretical calculations of heavy atom effects in magnetic resonance spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis presents quantum chemical calculations, applications of the response function formalism recently implemented within the framework of density functional theory (DFT) by our research group. The purpose of the calculations is to assess the performance of this perturbative approach to determining heavy atom effects on magnetic resonance parameters. READ MORE

4. Laser-Induced Incandescence for Soot Diagnostics: Theoretical Investigation and Experimental Development
Abstract : Laser-induced incandescence, LII, is a laser-diagnostic technique that can be used to measure the volume fraction and the sizes of soot particles suspended in a gas, such as within a combustion process or in its exhausts. The technique is based on the facts that the time-decay of the radiation from laser-heated soot particles is directly related to the particle size in the probed volume, and that the time-integrated radiation is related to the soot volume fraction. 5. Safe, human-like, decision-making for autonomous driving
Abstract : Autonomous driving technology can significantly improve transportation by saving lives and social costs and increasing traffic efficiency and availability. Decision-making is a critical component of driving ability. Complex traffic environments and interactions between road users bring about many challenges in decision-making. READ MORE
