  1. 1. Recovery of Kraft Black Liquor - Alternative Processes and System Analysis

    Author : Tobias Richards; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; shrinking-core; entropy; Kraft black liquor; equilibrium; thermodynamic efficiency; direct causticization;

    Abstract : Besides the conventional recovery process, there are several possible processes whereby the cooking chemicals in kraft black liquor can be recovered. A part of one of the possible processes, direct causticization using titanate, has been studied in detail. READ MORE

  2. 2. Recovery of kraft black liquor using the titanate process : a study of the leaching reaction of 4:5 sodium titanate

    Author : Tobias Richards; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; the titanate process; shrinking-core; direct causticization; kraft recovery; leaching; equilibrium;

    Abstract : .... READ MORE

  3. 3. Study and Modeling of the Reduction of Sulfur Dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides and Hydrogen Chloride by Dry Injection Technologies

    Author : Wuyin Wang; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reaction kinetics; pore particle size; HCl; NOx; desulfurization; Ca-based sorbent; flue gas; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : The potential and mechanism to reduce acid gases, such as SO2, NOx and HCl by dry Ca-based sorbents have been studied to improve the efficiencies of the process and sorbent utilization. Several natural limestones were tested for SO2 removal. Calcium conversion as high as 45% was achieved within 0.3 s at 1000°C, 1000 ppm SO2 and Ca/S=1. READ MORE

  4. 4. Effect of chemical and physical properties on combustion of biomass particle

    Author : Amit Biswas; Fabrizio Scala; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : Biomass combustion is an interesting alternative to fossil fuel. Modeling and simulation is used for design optimization of biomass boilers and furnace. It is difficult to develop a sufficiently accurate and computationally efficient model because the combustion system is highly complicated multi-scale, multi-phase and multi-physics problem. 5. 5. Sulphide oxidation and geochemical processes in mine tailings

    Author : Lena Alakangas; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : The generation of acid mine drainage (AMD) from oxidation of sulphide- bearing waste is a world wide problem, due to low pH levels and the release of metals to recipients. It is therefore important to understand the fundamental geochemical processes occurring in mine waste. READ MORE
