  1. 1. Equality, Uniqueness, Renewal : Conversations to Reimagine Pedagogical Action, with Jacques Rancière and Adriana Cavarero

    Author : Cathrine Ryther; Agnieszka Bron; Maarten Simons; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; philosophy of education; educational foundations; limits of education; pedagogical action; renewal; conversation; equality; uniqueness; freedom; Jacques Rancière; Adriana Cavarero; Wilhelm Sjöstrand; pedagogik; Education;

    Abstract : Sjöstrand (1970a) called the relation between equality and freedom a fundamental pedagogical problem because it shapes assumptions about how pedagogical action affects renewal—or, the issue of human becoming in an always already populated context. In this dissertation I reimagine Sjöstrand’s pedagogical problem, replacing the terms of equality and freedom with Rancière’s concept of equality and Cavarero’s concept of uniqueness, in order to consider the consequences for (a) the connection between pedagogical action and renewal, and (b) the image(s) of renewal that pedagogical action might prioritize. 2. 2. Representation of Quantum Algorithms with Symbolic Language and Simulation on Classical Computer

    Author : Peter Nyman; Andrei khrennikov; Paul Fischer; Växjö universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Deutsch-Josza algorithm; Grover s algorithm; Quantum computing; Quantum error-correcting; Shor s algorithm; Simon s algorithm; Simulation of quantum algorithms; Deutsch-Josza algoritm; Grovers algoritm; Kvantdatorer; kvantmekanisk felrättande kod; Shors algoritm; Simons algoritm; Simulering av kvantdatorer; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : Utvecklandet av kvantdatorn är ett ytterst lovande projekt som kombinerar teoretisk och experimental kvantfysik, matematik, teori om kvantinformation och datalogi. Under första steget i utvecklandet av kvantdatorn låg huvudintresset på att skapa några algoritmer med framtida tillämpningar, klargöra grundläggande frågor och utveckla en experimentell teknologi för en leksakskvantdator som verkar på några kvantbitar. 3. 3. Abelian and non-abelian quantum Hall hierarchies

    Author : Yoran Tournois; Maria Hermanns; Kareljan Schoutens; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fractional quantum hall effect; conformal field theory; Ginzburg-Landau-Chern-Simons; Chern-Simons; wave functions; anyons; fractional statistics; braiding; composite bosons; teoretisk fysik; Theoretical Physics;

    Abstract : A core tenet of condensed matter physics has been that different phases of matter can be classified according to Landau's symmetry breaking paradigm. It has become clear, however, that phases of matter exist that are not distinguished by symmetry, but rather by topology. READ MORE

  4. 4. On relations between classical and quantum theories of information and probability

    Author : Peter Nyman; Andrei Khrennikov; Sergei Kozyrev; Linnéuniversitetet; []

    Abstract : In this thesis we study quantum-like representation and simulation of quantum algorithms by using classical computers.The quantum--like representation algorithm (QLRA) was  introduced by A. Khrennikov (1997) to solve the ``inverse Born's rule problem'', i.e. READ MORE

  5. 5. Twisting and Gluing : On Topological Field Theories, Sigma Models and Vertex Algebras

    Author : Johan Källén; Maxim Zabzine; Mathias Blau; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Topological field theory; Chern-Simons theory; Contact geometry; Sigma models; Poisson vertex algebras; Vertex algebras; String theory; Theoretical Physics; Teoretisk fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of two parts, which can be read separately. In the first part we study aspects of topological field theories. We show how to topologically twist three-dimensional N=2 supersymmetric Chern-Simons theory using a contact structure on the underlying manifold. READ MORE
