  1. 1. Receptor-ligand interactions of the human 5-HT1B receptor : A site-directed mutagenesis study

    Author : Charlotta Grånäs; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurosciences; 5-hydroxytryptamine; serotonin; 5-HT1B receptor; site-directed mutagenesis; signal transduction; sumatriptan; G protein; Neurovetenskap; Neurology; Neurologi; medicinsk farmakologi; Medical Pharmacology;

    Abstract : The 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT, serotonin)1B receptor is one of thirteen G protein-coupled 5-HT receptors. 5-HT is known to influence temperature regulation, pain, cognition and sexual and feeding behaviours. READ MORE

  2. 2. Protein Folding Studied by Site Directed Mutagenesis

    Author : Tomas Ternström; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism; Biochemistry; Transition state; Activation Barrier; Two-State; Protein Folding; Protein Engineering;

    Abstract : The N-terminal RNA binding domain of U1A has been shown to fold in a two-state process without accumulating any intermediates. U1A has a symmetrically curved chevron plot which seems to result mainly from changes of the transition state. READ MORE

  3. 3. Galanin receptor : studies with site-directed mutagenesis, agonists and antagonists

    Author : Kalev Kask; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : .... READ MORE

  4. 4. Glutathione transferases : molecular cloning, site-directed mutagenesis and structure-function studies

    Author : Gun Stenberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Three distinct glutathione transferases (GST) cDNA clones were obtained by screening of tumour cell line cDNA libraries. The cDNA clones were expressed in Escherichia coli and the enzymes characterized. Rat GST 8-8 is the only member in the multifunctional GST family for which a specific cellular function has been proposed. READ MORE

  5. 5. Mutational Analysis and Redesign of Alpha-class Glutathione Transferases for Enhanced Azathioprine Activity

    Author : Olof Modén; Bengt Mannervik; Mikael Widersten; Kenneth Tew; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; allelic variants; azathioprine; bioactivation; chimeric mutagenesis; directed evolution; DNA shuffling; enzyme engineering; glutathione transferase; GST; lysate screening; molecular docking; multiple alignment; multivariate analysis; polymorphism; principal component analysis; prodrug; prodrug activation; protein engineering; protein redesign; reduced amino acid alphabet; saturation mutagenesis; semi-rational enzyme engineering; site-directed mutagenesis; structure-activity relationship; structure-based redesign; Biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Glutathione transferase (GST) A2-2 is the human enzyme most efficient in catalyzing azathioprine activation. Structure-function relationships were sought explaining the higher catalytic efficiency compared to other alpha class GSTs. READ MORE
