1. Site-Specific Recombination : Integrases, Accessory Factors and DNA Targets of P2-like Coliphages
Abstract : The temperate coliphage P2 and its family members integrate their genomes into the host Escherichia coli chromosome by a site-specific recombination mechanism to form lysogeny. Integration takes place between the complex phage attP site and the simple bacterial attB site and is catalyzed by the phage encoded integrase (Int). READ MORE

2. Single-photon multiple ionisation of atoms and molecules investigated by coincidence spectroscopy : Site-specific effects in acetaldehyde and carbon dioxide
Abstract : In this thesis, multiple ionisation processes of free atoms and molecules upon single photon absorption are studied by means of a versatile multi-electron-ion coincidence spectroscopy method based on a magnetic bottle, primarily in combination with synchrotron radiation. The latter offered the possibility to access not only valence but also core levels, revealing processes, which promote the target systems into different charge states. READ MORE

3. Before Sound: Transversal Processes in Site-Specific Sonic Practice
Abstract : This doctoral research explores the capacity of site-specific practices of sound installation to bring about transformation. It claims that in order to understand this capacity, we need to address the complexity of the transversal processes that make up artistic practices in this field, and understand that these transversal processes in fact precede sound. 4. Development of a covalent site-specific antibody labeling strategy by the use of photoactivable Z domains
Abstract : The joining of two molecular functions or the strategy of adding functions to proteins has been tremendously important for the development of proteins as tools in research and clinic. Depending on the intended application, there are a wide variety of functions that can be added to a proteins. READ MORE

5. Mechanisms and DNA Specificity in Site-specific Recombination of Integron Cassettes
Abstract : Bacterial resistance to antibiotics has become a serious problem. This is due to the remarkable ability of bacteria to respond and rapidly adapt to environmental changes. Integrons are elements with the capacity for gene capture by an integron-encoded site-specific recombinase called IntI. READ MORE
