  1. 1. Utilization of Wild Fruit in Mozambique – Drying of Vangueria infausta (African medlar)

    Author : Eulália Chiau; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vangueria infausta; drying; maltodextrin; sucrose; softener; toughness; solar-assisted pervaporation; aroma; crystallization; water activity;

    Abstract : Vangueria infausta (African medlar) is a wild fruit found in southern and central Mozambique. The ripe fruit has a leathery skin enclosing three to five seeds embedded in a soft pulp that tastes like apple. It plays an important role in the diet of the rural population and has the potential for commercial use. READ MORE

  2. 2. Diffusion in cationic vesicle and micellar solutions- a NMR study

    Author : Cecilia Groth; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; vesicles; Stopped-flow; micellar kinetics; water transport; DSC; Gemini surfactant; permeability; NOESY; Cationic surfactant; NMR diffusometry; extrusion;

    Abstract : Double tailed cationic surfactants are the active component in softeners. In the beginning of the 90s the active component in softener formulations was changed from a hydrolytically stable dialkyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (dialkyl quat) to a cleavable and biodegradable product containing ester groups in the alkyl chains (dialkyl ester quat). 3. 3. Methods and models for 2D and 3D image analysis in microscopy, in particular for the study of muscle cells

    Author : Patrick Karlsson Edlund; Ewert Bengtsson; Joakim Lindblad; Carolina Wählby; Fritz Albregtsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : medical image analysis; image segmentation; fluorescence microscopy; cytometry; human skeletal muscle;

    Abstract : Many research questions in biological research lead to numerous microscope images that need to be evaluated. Here digital image cytometry, i.e., quantitative, automated or semi-automated analysis of the images is an important rapidly growing discipline. READ MORE

  4. 4. Enzymatic Synthesis of Alkyl Glycosides. New Applications for Glycoside Hydrolases
