1. Spectral control of lasers and optical parametric oscillators with volume Bragg gratings
READ MORE

2. Laser-based absorption spectrometry : development of NICE-OHMS towards ultra-sensitive trace species detection
Abstract : Laser-based absorption spectroscopy (AS) is a powerful technique for qualitative and quantitative studies of atoms and molecules. An important field of use of AS is the detection of species in trace concentrations, which has applications not only in physics and chemistry but also in biology and medicine, encompassing environmental monitoring, regulation of industrial processes and breath analysis. 3. Structure-Function Relationships in RuII Complexes with Unconventional Ligands: Photophysical and Photochemical Studies
Abstract : The rich photophysics, photochemistry and electrochemistry of RuII complexes have attracted intense research interest in widely disparate fields. A large portion of the studied and applied complexes are derived from the archetypical [Ru(bpy)3]2+ (bpy is 2,2’-bipyridine), which absorbs in the visible region, displays a long lived (~1 μs), emissive metal-to-ligand charge transfer state, and shows reversible electrochemistry in both the ground and excited state. 4. Dicke narrowing and speed-dependent effects in dispersion signals : Influence on assessment of concentration and spectral parameters by noise-immune cavity-enhanced optical heterodyne molecular spectrometry
Abstract : Laser spectroscopic techniques have, during the last decades, demonstrated an extraordinary capability for sensitive detection of molecular constituents in gas phase. Since spectra from such techniques constitute unique and characteristic signatures for each type of species, these techniques enable investigations of molecular structures as well as detection of the presence of species in a gas mixture. 5. Electronic structure studies using resonant X-ray and photoemission spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis addresses the electronic structure of molecules and solids using resonant X-ray emission and photoemission spectroscopy. The use of monochromatic synchrotron radiation and the improved performance of the instrumentation have opened up the possibility of detailed analyses of the response of the electronic systems under interaction with X-rays.
