  1. 1. Towards sustainable energy consumption : Electricity demand flexibility and household fuel choice

    Author : Aemiro Melkamu Daniel; Lars Persson; Runar Brännlund; Rauli Svento; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Choice experiment; demand flexibility; electricity contract; fuel choice; fuel stacking; household heterogeneity; load control; pro-environmental framing; willingness-to-accept;

    Abstract : Paper [I] investigates household heterogeneity in valuing electricity contract attributes that include various load controls and information sharing to induce demand flexibility. Using a stated preference choice experiment conducted with Swedish households, this paper shows that, although a large proportion of households ask for substantial compensation, some households are willing to share their electricity consumption information and require relatively lower compensation to allow load controls. 2. 2. Motorists´evaluation of road maintenance management

    Author : Camilla Olsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : stated choice; stated preference; valuations of maintenance management; driving comfort; road standard evaluation;

    Abstract : The road network is extremely valuable. Road Administrationsare expected to invest maintenance funding in a way thatreturns maximum benefit to road users. Cost-benefit analysis isone method to ensure that an adequate return in terms ofbenefits results from committing expenditure. READ MORE

  3. 3. Factors that influence choice of travel mode in major urban areas

    Author : Anna-Lena Lindström Olsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : mode choice; valuation; traffic reduction; stated preference; factors; park and ride;

    Abstract : Problems associated with traffic, such as traffic congestionand pollution, have occurred in major urban areas in particulardue to the increased use of cars. One possible way to reducethe use of cars is to replace commuter trips by car with othermodes of transport, such as a combination of car and publictransport called Park&Ride. READ MORE

  4. 4. Issues in Urban Travel Demand Modelling : ICT Implications and Trip timing choice

    Author : Maria Börjesson; Staffan Algers; Kay Axhausen; KTH; []

    Abstract : Travel demand forecasting is essential for many decisions, such as infrastructure investments and policy measures. Traditionally travel demand modelling has considered trip frequency, mode, destination and route choice. This thesis considers two other choice dimensions, hypothesised to have implications for travel demand forecasting. READ MORE
