  3. 18. Epoxides as Contact Allergens - Formation, Sensitising Potency and Structure-Activity Relationships

    Author : Ida Belogorcev Niklasson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Allergic contact dermatitis; Autoxidation; Bioactivation; Cinnamic alcohol; Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A DGEBA ; Epoxide; Epoxy resin; Local lymph node assay; Polymerisation; Peptide reactivity; Prehapten; Prohapten; Sensitisation; Skin; Structure-Activity Relationship; Thermogravimetric Analysis;

    Abstract : Chemicals in our environment with which we have repeated skin contact can cause skin sensitisation (contact allergy). To trigger an immune response a compound (hapten) must be able to penetrate the skin, where it needs to be reactive enough to bind to proteins and form immunogenic complexes that are recognised as foreign. 4. 19. Discovery of Small Peptides and Peptidomimetics Targeting the Substance P 1-7 Binding Site : Focus on Design, Synthesis, Structure-Activity Relationships and Drug-Like Properties

    Author : Rebecca Fransson; Anja Sandström; John S Svendsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; substance P 1-7; peptidomimetics; structure-activity relationship; drug-like properties; phenylalanine; imidazole; MAP aryl amides; carbonylation; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Abstract : Biologically active peptides are important for many physiological functions in the human body and therefore serve as interesting starting points in drug discovery processes. In this work the neuropeptide substance P 1–7 (SP1–7, H-Arg-Pro-Lys-Pro-Gln-Gln-Phe-OH), which has been demonstrated to reduce neuropathic pain and attenuate opioid withdrawal symptoms in animal models, has been addressed in a medicinal chemistry program with the overall aim of transforming this bioactive peptide into more drug-like compounds. 5. 20. Structure-activity studies of novel colchicine analogs

    Author : Håkan Bladh; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Colchicine, a well-known alkaloid isolated from Colchicum autumnale, interferes with microtubule growth and, therefore affects mitosis and other microtubule dependent functions. We have been interested in the structural requirements of colchicine for tubulin recognition. READ MORE
