1. Hybrid Grid Generation for Viscous Flow Computations Around Complex Geometries
Abstract : A set of algorithms building a program package for the generation of twoandthree-dimensional unstructured/hybrid grids around complex geometrieshas been developed. The unstructured part of the grid generator is based on the advancing frontalgorithm. READ MORE

2. Efficient Partitioning of Dynamic Structured Grid Hierarchies
Abstract : This thesis aims at decreasing execution time for large-scale structured adaptive mesh refinement (SAMR) applications executing on general parallel computers. The key contributions are (1) A conceptual dynamically adaptive meta-partitioner able to select and configure an appropriate partitioning technique, based on application and computer state, and (2) A characterization of new and existing domain-based partitioners, enabling a mapping from application and computer state onto appropriate partitioners, and (3) Sketched scalable solutions, expressed in terms of natural regions and expert algorithms, for the problem to efficiently partition large-scale SAMR applications with deep grid hierarchies executing on general parallel computers, and (4) A software partitioning tool Nature+Fable, implementing the greater parts of these sketched scalable solutions and engineered as part of the meta-partitioner. 3. The Full Multigrid Method Applied to Turbulent Flow in Ventilated Enclosures Using Structured and Unstructured Grids
Abstract : Computational fluid dynamics require large computer resources and it is thus of paramount interest to have as efficient an algorithm as possible. This means that both an accurate discretization and a fast solver are required. In this work, we have used the full multigrid concept, which is a general and optimal solver. READ MORE

4. Metadata Management in Multi-Grids and Multi-Clouds
Abstract : Grid computing and cloud computing are two related paradigms used to access and use vast amounts of computational resources. The resources are often owned and managed by a third party, relieving the users from the costs and burdens of acquiring and managing a considerably large infrastructure themselves. READ MORE

5. Structured Model Reduction and its Application to Power Systems
Abstract : Many of today’s engineering systems have a network structure. Consider for instance power systems, where multiple grids of different geographical coverage are interconnected to form larger grids, a set of vehicles moving in formation or distributed control systems, where several controllers act locally with limited information.
