  1. 1. Engineering superconducting qubits : towards a quantum machine

    Author : Joachim Sjöstrand; Anders Karlhede; Denis Vion; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : A quantum computer is an information processing machine, much like an ordinary classical computer, but its function is based on quantum mechanical principles. To be able to construct such a machine would be a fantastic accomplishment---to have total control over a quantum system is a dream for both physicists and science-fiction enthusiasts. READ MORE

  2. 2. Quantum acoustics with superconducting circuits

    Author : Gustav Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; superconducting qubits; cluster states; SAW; two-level systems; circuit QED; giant atoms; two-mode squeezing; surface acoustic wave; quantum acoustics; hybrid quantum systems;

    Abstract : The past 20 years has seen rapid developments in circuit quantum electrodynamics, where superconducting qubits and resonators are used to control and study quantum light-matter interaction at a fundamental level. The development of this field is strongly influenced by quantum information science and the prospect of realizing quantum computation, but also opens up opportunities for combinations of different physical systems and research areas. 3. 3. Quantum Optics with Propagating Microwaves in Superconducting Circuits

    Author : Io Chun Hoi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transmon; second-order correlation function; qubit; microwave photons; photon router; superconducting artificial atom; Autler-Townes splitting; quantum network; SQUID; superconducting circuits; cross-Kerr effect; antibunching; Mollow triplet; Josephson junction; quantum optics;

    Abstract : We address recent advances in quantum optics with propagating microwavesin superconducting circuits. This research field exploits on the fact that the coupling between a superconducting artificial atom and propagating microwave photons in a one-dimensional (1D) open transmission line can be made strong enough to observe quantum effects, without using any cavity to confine the microwave photons. 4. 4. Superconducting qubits - measurement, entanglement, and noise

    Author : Lars Tornberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum Electric Circuits; Open Quantum Systems; Quantum Optics; Quantum Computing; Superconducting Qubits; Quantum Measurement;

    Abstract : In the early 1980’s, it was suggested that a computer obeying the laws of quantum mechanics would be able to solve problems beyond the capabilities of a classical computer. The novel ways in which such a quantum computer works relies on the quantum properties of the quantum bits (qubits) used to store the information. READ MORE

  5. 5. NbTiN for improved superconducting detectors

    Author : Julien Zichi; Val Zwiller; Gregory Gol'tsman; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; superconducting nanowire sngle photon detector; SNSPD; niobium titanium nitride; NbTiN; reactive co-sputtering; quantum communications; quantum sensing; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : The physics of single photons is fascinating, by manipulating them we can observe and probe quantum effects. Doing so requires the fabrication and utilization of single photon sources, of which many types have been developed including quantum dots, trapped atoms and ions, and color centers. READ MORE
