  1. 1. Synthetic studies of nitrogen containing heterocycles, particularly pyrazole and benzotriazine derivatives

    Author : Azadeh Nakhai; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Pyrazole; indazole; tetrahydroindazoles; hexahydroindazoles; alpha; beta-unsaturated ketones; dihydropyrazolone; 3; 3 -biindolyl; 3; 3 -biindazolyl; o-azidobenzonitriles; benzotriazine; aryl-triazene;

    Abstract : This thesis will mainly focus on the chemistry of nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds, particularly pyrazole and benzotriazine and related ring systems to these compounds. The first part includes a short introduction to biologically important compounds as well as a description of reactivity and chemistry of benzo[c]pyrazole (indazole) and its derivatives. READ MORE

  2. 2. Nucleoside phosphoramidates and related compounds : development of synthetic methods based on H-phosphonate chemistry

    Author : Inger Kers; Wojciech J. Stec; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis, studies directed towards development of new synthetic methods for the preparation of nucleotide analogues of potential medical value as antisense, antigene or antiviral agents, are described.Two methods for synthesis of N3'->P5' and P3'->N5' phosphoramidate analogues with the nitrogen atom in bridging position of the internucleotide linkage was developed. 3. 3. Structural and Morphological Studies of Mesoporous Crystals

    Author : Kristina Lund; Osamu Terasaki; Sven Lidin; Lars Eriksson; Mika Lindén; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; Structural Chemistry; strukturkemi;

    Abstract : Mesoporous silica and carbon have been synthesised and characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission and scanning electron microscopy (TEM and SEM) and nitrogen adsorption. Surface structure, size and shape (morphology) of particles have been of special interest in this work. READ MORE

  4. 4. Unsymmetrical Diaryliodonium Salts : Development and Chemoselectivity studies

    Author : Joel Malmgren; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The first part describes a chemoselectivity study on diaryliodonium salts where oxygen, nitrogen and carbon nucleophiles have been arylated. Twelve different unsymmetric phenyl(aryl)iodonium salts were designed with a systematic variation of the steric and electronic properties of the aryl group. READ MORE

  5. 5. Ethanol from lignocellulose : Alkali detoxification of dilute-acid spruce hydrolysates

    Author : Björn Alriksson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Detoxification of dilute-acid lignocellulose hydrolysates by treatment with Ca(OH)2 (overliming) efficiently improves the production of fuel ethanol, but is associated with drawbacks like sugar degradation and CaSO4 precipitation. In factorial designed experiments, in which pH and temperature were varied, dilute-acid spruce hydrolysates were treated with Ca(OH)2, NH4OH or NaOH. READ MORE
