    Abstract : A challenge for the clinical management of Parkinson's disease (PD) is the large within- and between-patient variability in symptom profiles as well as the emergence of motor complications which represent a significant source of disability in patients. This thesis deals with the development and evaluation of methods and systems for supporting the management of PD by using repeated measures, consisting of subjective assessments of symptoms and objective assessments of motor function through fine motor tests (spirography and tapping), collected by means of a telemetry touch screen device. 2. 2. Metapopulation ecology of Osmoderma eremita - dispersal, habitat quality and habitat history

    University dissertation from Jonas Hedin

    Author : Jonas Hedin; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2003]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; extinction debt; habitat history; habitat quality; pheromone; telemetry; capture-mark-recapture; metapopulation; dispersal; oak; Osmoderma eremita; beetle; Animal ecology; Djurekologi;

    Abstract : Popular Abstract in Swedish Jag har huvudsakligen studerat läderbaggen Osmoderma eremita, en ca tre cm lång skalbagge som lever inne ihåliga träd. Larverna av denna s k bladhorning lever av den döda veden på stammens insida i levande ihåliga lövträd (i Sverige främst ek) och av mulmen inne i trädet (den mjölliknande blandning av nedbruten ved, vedsvampar, löv, gamla fågelbon, fladdermöss, insekter och annat organiskt material som man finner inne i ihåliga träd). 3. 3. Individual consistency in bird migration

    University dissertation from Lund University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology

    Author : YANNIS VARDANIS; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2016]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bird migration; telemetry; bird ringing; individual consistency; repeatability; site fidelity; routes; timing; annual cycle; meta-analysis;

    Abstract : Slight differences, which appear in the individual animals of the same species and population have been recognised and appreciated ever since Darwin. These consistent intra-specific differences in animals have been considered very important because they are often inherited, and thus, provide the basic material for evolution to act on. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development of Salt-Sensitive Hypertension in Hydronephrosis

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Mattias Carlström; Uppsala universitet.; [2008]
    Keywords : Physiology; blood pressure; nephrectomy; nitric oxide; oxidative stress; renal function; renin angiotensin system; salt-sensitivity; telemetry; tubuloglomerular feedback; ureteral obstruction; Fysiologi;

    Abstract : Hydronephrosis, due to ureteropelvic junction obstruction, is a common condition in infants with an incidence of approximately 0.5-1%. During the last decade, the surgical management of non-symptomatic hydronephrosis has become more conservative, and the long-term physiological consequences of this new policy are unclear. READ MORE

  5. 5. Flight strategies in migrating birds: when and how to fly

    University dissertation from Martin Green, Dept. of Animal Ecology, Ecology Building, S-223 62 Lund, Sweden
