  1. 1. Synthetic Functionalities for Ion and Electron Conductive Polymers : Applications in Organic Electronics and Biological Interfaces

    Author : Tobias Abrahamsson; Magnus Berggren; Daniel Simon; Mikhail Vagin; David Bliman; Roger Gabrielsson; David Mecerreyes; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : In the search for understanding and communicating with all biological systems, in humans, animals, plants, and even microorganisms, we find a common language of all communicating via electrons, ions and molecules. Since the discovery of organic electronics, the ability to bridge the gap and communicate be-tween modern technology and biology has emerged. READ MORE

  2. 2. Tales from the Sweet Side of Life : Structure and dynamics of carbohydrate-based systems

    Author : Alessandro Ruda; Göran Widmalm; Jesús Jiménez Barbero; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbohydrates; nuclear magnetic resonance; molecular dynamics; glycans; conformational analysis; structure elucidation; protein-glycan interactions; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The field of glycomics has experienced significant developments in the last few decades, revealing a profound and elaborate language behind the intrinsic complexity of the glycans structures. This ‘sugar code’ is at the basis of intercellular interaction and recognition. For this language to be understood, its chemical basis must be unveiled. READ MORE

  5. 5. Sensemaking in chemistry at upper secondary school

    Author : Ylva Hamnell -Pamment; Utbildningsvetenskap; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Lärande i kemi; Begripliggörande; Språk; Begreppsutveckling; Lärar-elevinteraktion; Begreppskartor; Samtalsanalys; Chemistry teaching and learning; Sensemaking; Language use; Concept development; Teacher–student interaction; Concept mapping; Conversation analysis;

    Abstract : In chemistry education, student learning difficulties involve connecting theory and phenomena to make sense of chemistry, as well as utilising and understanding the language of chemistry. In this thesis, I examine the relationships among student language use, previous achievement level, and sensemaking in chemistry, as well as how experienced teachers help students make sense of chemistry as part of dialogic interaction during practical work.
