   Abstract : This thesis focuses on developing and characterizing novel models for studying osteoclasts with an emphasis on how mutations abolishing osteoclastic acidification affect osteoclast signaling and bone remodeling, as well as how to treat patients bearing these rare mutations.    Abstract : Background: Oral antigoagulation treatment (OAT) with warfarin have a narrow therapeutic window and patients exhibit a highly variable doseresponse that is attributable to genetic, disease-related,and environmental factors as well as prescription and nonprescription drugs, dietary vitamin K and alcohol.
