1. Experimental studies on thrombosis and thrombolysis : With special reference to importance of lys-plasminogen, active site thrombin inhibitors and stable fish oil
Abstract : Dissolution and prevention of thrombus in the atherosclerotic coronary artery have become an important part of treatment therapy of acute myocardial infarction. However, the currently most effective thrombolytic agent, recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (rt-PA), only elicits 80% recanalization of thrombotically occluded coronary arteries and early occlusion occurs in about 40% of successfullyrecanalized vessels. 3. Thrombosis in Children
Abstract : Aims: The general objective was to further elucidate thromboembolic disease in children and thereby help improve the care of these patients. More specific aims were as follows: to determine what children are affected by thrombosis; to discern any gender or age differences related to thrombosis; to identify prothrombotic risk factors; to ascertain whether autoantibodies against coagulation proteins constitute a risk factor for childhood thrombosis; to study girls receiving estrogen treatment with regard to induced hemostatic changes and efficacy of the therapy; to investigate long-term effects on the hemostatic system in children subjected to heart surgery. 5. Studies on effects of antioxidants on arterial thrombosis and endothelial cell injury : With special reference to Tocopherols and ApoA1 Milano
Abstract : Coronary arterial endothelial injury and thrombosis are believed to be critical factors in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease (CAD). Experimental studies have provided evidence for au inverse relation between acute coronary events and antioxidant intake. READ MORE
