  2. 2. Towards CO2 efficient centralised distribution

    Author : Christofer Kohn; Maria Huge Brodin; Mats Abrahamsson; Alan McKinnon; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : CO2 emissions; Centralised distribution; Structural change; Shipper; Transport; Trade-off; Interrelationship; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This dissertation treats a topic that has received increasing attention as of late, namely that of the environment and in particular increasing levels of CO2 emissions caused by transport. The aim of the dissertation is to explain how a shipper, through various measures, can reduce transport-related CO2 emissions when centralising a distribution system and how this affects the provision of cost efficient customer service. 3. 3. Avian thermoregulation across age and seasons

    Author : Fredrik Andreasson; Evolutionär ekologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ambient temperature; body temperature; Cyanistes caeruleus; energy expenditure; hypothermia; life-history theory; metabolic rate; Parus major; thermoregulation; trade-off; winter ecology;

    Abstract : Animals constantly need to relate to prevailing environmental conditions and regulate their body temperature accordingly. Body temperature regulation in birds and mammals is inherently linked to energy expenditure and, thus, thermoregulation is a physiological mechanism that could trade-off with other costly processes, with potential long-term fitness consequences. Simulators will be used to replicate the experience and conditions of such missions as faithfully as possible within terrestrial constraints. READ MORE

  5. 5. Cardiovascular disease and hypertension : Population-based studies on self-rated health and health-related quality of life in Sweden

    Author : Carola Bardage; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacy; Cardiovascular disease; hypertension; antihypertensive treatment; side effects; self-rated health; health-related quality of life; health-state utilities; SF-36 Health Survey; rating scale; time trade-off; general population; twins; FARMACI; PHARMACY; FARMACI; Social Pharmacy; samhällsfarmaci;

    Abstract : The aim with this thesis was to study cardiovascular disease and hypertension, use of drugs and health from an epidemiological perspective. Various methods - self-rated health (SRH), health related quality of life (HRQL) - the 36-item short form questionnaire (SF-36) - and health utility measurements - the rating scale (RS) and the time-trade off (TTO) methods - were employed.
