1. Modeling, control and path planning for an articulated vehicle
Abstract : This licentiate thesis is focusing on the modeling, control and path planning problems for an articulated vehicle. Based on a novel error dynamics modeling approach, the nonlinear kinematic model of the vehicle has been transformed in a linear switching model representation, which is also able to take under consideration the effect of slip angles, a factor that significantly deteriorates the overall system approach. 2. Robustness Analysis of Intracellular Oscillators with Application to the Circadian Clock
Abstract : Periodic oscillations underlie many intracellular functions, such as circadian time keeping, cell cycle control and locomotor pattern generation in nerve cells. These intracellular oscillations are generated in intricate biochemical reaction networks involving genes, proteins and other biochemical components. READ MORE

3. Translational PET imaging of inflammation
Abstract : Inflammation is our body’s sophisticated defense mechanism against invading pathogens, traumas, and tumors. Repeatable and non-invasive monitoring of inflammation process would open opportunities to improve our knowledge of several diseases and enable assessment of personalized treatments. READ MORE

4. Compact-disc microfluidic methods for characterization of therapeutic antibodies : Analysis of post-translational modifications
Abstract : Characterization of post-translational modifications (PTMs) of therapeutic proteins is very important during the bioprocess development to maintain desired product quality and during the submission process to regulatory authorities for product approval. Monitoring glycosylation in pharmacokinetic studies can be useful to evaluate the dependence of clearance rates on different glycoforms. READ MORE

5. Post-transcriptional control of stem and cancer cell fate. New roles for an old RNA modification
Abstract : Recent advances in high-throughput sequencing technologies uncovered widespread RNA modifications on coding and non-coding RNAs collectively refer to as the epitranscriptome. However, we are only now starting to appreciate the impact of the epitranscriptome in regulating cell biology. READ MORE
