1. Freezing Temperature Flows in Railway Tunnels and its Consequence on the Rock Supporting Structure, the Rock and the Reinforcing Elements
Abstract : Water in the surrounding rock mass flows into the tunnel via naturally occurring joints and via cracks caused by the blasting used to excavate the tunnel. The most common method in Sweden to reduce or prevent leakage problems are first and foremost the use of grouting. READ MORE

2. Computational hydrodynamics applied to an America's Cup class keel - best practice and validation of methods
Abstract : Numerical predictions of the flow around yacht keels can be performed with various types of methods. In this work computational fluid dynamic (CFD) computations are validated against wind tunnel studies of an America's Cup Class keel with the purpose of investigating the accuracy that can be achieved with CFD, which methods that are suitable and how they should be used in the best way. 3. Microbially induced concrete degradation in subsea tunnels - Community structure of biofilms from sprayed reinforced concrete in the Oslofjord tunnel
Abstract : Microbially induced concrete deterioration has been discovered in several Norwegian subsea tunnels with significant disintegration of the calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) and steel fibre corrosion in areas with leakages of saline groundwater. Complex microbial biofilm activity together with abiotic attack from saline ground water, with high concentrations of Cl−, SO42−, Mg2+ and HCO3−, are responsible for the degradation in the specific subsea tunnel environment. 4. 3D Scan Matching for Mobile Robots with Application to Mine Mapping : Licentiate Thesis
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with three-dimensional scan registration, in particular of underground mine tunnels. Registration of partial range scans is an essential part of building 3D maps, and autonomous creation of reliable maps is a first step towards autonomous mining vehicles. READ MORE
