    Abstract : Throughout the last century, medical imaging has come to revolutionise the way we diagnose disease, and is today an indispensable part of virtually any clinical practice. In cardiovascular care imaging is extensively utilised, and the development of novel techniques promises refined diagnostic abilities: ultrasound elastography allows for constitutive tissue assessment, 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enables full-field flow mapping, and micro-Computed Tomography (CT) permits high-resolution imaging at pre-clinical level. 2. 2. New perspectives on imaging of urinary tract infections in infants

    Author : Yvonne Simrén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Urinary tract infection; Ultrasound; Diffusion weighted imaging; Diffusion tensor imaging;

    Abstract : Background: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common disease in infants that may lead to renal damage with an increased risk of long term complications. The diagnostic imaging aims to identify risk factors as underlying urinary tract abnormalities and renal involvement of the infection for prevention of long term adverse outcome. READ MORE

  3. 3. Juxtarenal aortic aneurysm - Endovascular treatment and imaging techniques

    Author : Thorarinn Kristmundsson; Kirurgi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Abdominal aortic aneurysm; juxtarenal aneurysm; endovascular repair; fenestrated endovascular repair; imaging; computed tomography; ultrasound.;

    Abstract : Treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms has shifted rapidly from open surgery to minimally invasive endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). However, anatomical limitations such as short or absent proximal sealing neck and poor access vessels exclude up to 50% of patients. READ MORE

  4. 4. Quantification and Visualization of Cardiovascular Function using Ultrasound

    Author : Matilda Larsson; Lars-Åke Brodin; Hans Torp; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ultrasound; Tissue Doppler imaging; Speckle tracking imaging; cardiovascular function; visualization; quantification; Medical engineering; Medicinsk teknik;

    Abstract : There is a large need for accurate methods detecting cardiovascular diseases, since they are one of the leading causes of mortality in the world, accounting for 29.3% of all deaths. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development of Magnetomotive Ultrasound Imaging

    Author : Maria Evertsson; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Magnetomotive ultrasound; molecular imaging; contrast angents; multimodal imaging; sentinel lymph node;

    Abstract : The earlier abnormalities coupled with disease can be discovered in the body, the larger is the chance to survive the disease. Molecular imaging is a growing research field which aims to detect these abnormalities at a molecular level, when the chance of survival is still high. READ MORE
