  1. 6. Condition monitoring of machine tools and machining processes using internal sensor signals

    Author : Jari Repo; Högskolan Väst.; KTH.; [2010]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TECHNOLOGY Materials science; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Teknisk materialvetenskap; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik; Conditional monitoring; machine tool; machining process; milling; position encoders; signal analysis; TECHNOLOGY Other technology Mechanical engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Övriga teknikvetenskaper Maskinteknik; condition monitoring;

    Abstract : Condition monitoring of critical machine tool components and machining processes is a key factor to increase the availability of the machine tool and achieving a more robust machining process. Failures in the machining process and machine tool components may also have negative effects on the final produced part. READ MORE

  2. 7. Characterization of fibroblast phenotypes in human airway remodeling

    University dissertation from Department of Experimental Medical Science, Lund Univeristy

    Author : Kristoffer Larsen; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2005]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Medicin människa och djur ; remodeling; General biomedical sciences; Biomedicinska vetenskaper allmänt ; fibrocytes; proteoglycans; Asthma; fibroblasts;

    Abstract : Wound healing that precedes scar formation may be unbalanced under pathological conditions leading to structural changes of the tissue. At the moment, the mechanisms behind this unbalance are unclear. When these changes occur in internal organs such as the lung, they may result in organ dysfunction with fatal consequences for the patient. READ MORE

  3. 8. Evaluation of strong nonlinearities in hydropower systems

    University dissertation from Luleå tekniska universitet

    Author : Florian Thiery; Luleå tekniska universitet.; [2014]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : In hydropower systems, it is essential to avoid catastrophic failures that leads to human and economic losses. Unfortunately, the rotor can behave abnormally since several nonlinear effects occur during start-up, shut downs or when running at nominal speed. READ MORE

  4. 9. Modeling and Analysis of PMSM with Turn-To-Turn Fault

    University dissertation from Chalmers University of Technology

    Author : Joachim Härsjö; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2016]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Permanent magnet synchronous machine PMSM modeling; electromagnetic forces; inter-turn; fault detection; turn-to-turn fault; vibration.; fault;

    Abstract : Thanks to its high-torque density and high efficiency, the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) is today used in a vast range of applications, spanning from automotive to wind. Since in a PMSM the excitation field is provided by a permanent magnet instead of a coil, this machine does not have a rotor circuit and thereby the risk for electrical failures can be isolated on the stator circuit. 5. 10. Non-stationary rotor vibrations due to assymmetric temperature from skew heating in bearings and seals

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköpings universitet

    Author : Björn Larsson; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2000]

    Abstract : The genesis of this thesis is physical observations of slow alterations of synchronous rotor vibrations over time. It can lead to problems such as difficulties in performing proper balancing and unacceptably high vibration levels. The cause is often asymmetric heating of the rotor shaft. READ MORE
