  1. 1. Generation of urban runoff : Seasonal and climate change perspective

    Author : Shahab Moghadas; Claes Hernebring; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Abstract : Runoff generation in cold regions is characterized by snowmelt contributions to runoff during the periods of thawing and changing runoff patterns due to frozen ground. This thesis project aimed at addressing these challenges by advancing the procedures for winter urban runoff computations and the assessment of control measures during the winter/spring period, when the snowmelt and frozen soils dominantly impact runoff generation in the current and future climates. 2. 2. Urban Runoff and Snowmelt : Quantity and Quality Processes in Snow Deposits and Hydrologic Abstractions

    Author : Shahab Moghadas; Caterina Valeo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

  3. 3. Coagulation process characteristics and pollutant removal from urban runoff

    Author : Fredrik Nyström; Inga Herrmann; Annelie Hedström; Maria Viklander; Michael Cimbritz; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stormwater; urban snowmelt; road runoff; coagulation flocculation sedimentation; coagulation characteristics; coagulation mechanism; treatment efficiency; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering; Centre - Centre for Stormwater Management DRIZZLE ; Centrumbildning - Centrum för dagvattenhantering DRIZZLE ;

    Abstract : Many different stormwater control measures (SCMs) can be implemented in order to mitigate issues with polluted stormwater flows into receiving water bodies.  The treatment function of  SCMs is commonly based on the removal of particles by sedimentation, thereby also removing pollutants associated with particles. 4. 4. Particle concentrations : analysis methods for urban runoff

    Author : Kerstin Nordqvist; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Abstract : Urban runoff often contains high concentrations of particles. Pollutants that adsorbs to surfaces of particulate material will be transported to receiving waters or a sewage treatment plant. For the recipient, the particles in the runoff are a significant cause of water quality impairment. READ MORE

  5. 5. Sources and fluxes of organic contaminants in urban runoff

    Author : Karin Björklund; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; alkylphenols; substance flow analysis; sediment; concentrations in urban matrices; urban runoff quality predictions; source identification; phthalates; stormwater; snow;

    Abstract : Urban runoff quality is recognized as one of the most significant pressures on aquatic ecosystems worldwide. Research into pollutants in urban runoff has traditionally focused on nutrients, suspended solids and metals and consequently knowledge of anthropogenic organic pollutants is limited. READ MORE
