1. SiC-FET Gas Sensors Developed for Control of the Flue Gas Desulfurization System in Power Plants Experimental and Modeling : Experimental and Modeling
Abstract : Electricity and power generation is an essential part of our life. However, powergeneration activities also create by-products (such as sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, etc), which can be dangerous when released to the atmosphere. READ MORE

2. Modeling Complex Engines as Dynamic Powertrain Members
Abstract : Engine modeling and simulation have been necessary tools for efficient product development in the automotive industry for some time. The scope of this work is novel engine models, tools, and methods for powertrain research and development. READ MORE

3. Modeling Residual Stress Fields in Soft Tissues : with Application to Human Arteries
Abstract : Biomechanics or Mechanics of Biology comprises many different fields. This thesis deals with soft tissues or living tissues and the fact that these materials live in a pressurized environment. This means that an unloaded tissue may not be stress free. The stress in an unloaded body is usually called residual stress. READ MORE

4. Water and Carbon Balance Modeling: Methods of Uncertainty Analysis
Abstract : How do additional data of the same and/or different type contribute to reducing model parameter and predictive uncertainties? This was the question addressed with two models – the HBV hydrological water balance model and the ICBM soil carbon balance model – that were used to investigate the usefulness of the Generalized Likelihood Uncertainty Estimation (GLUE) method for calibrations and uncertainty analyses. The GLUE method is based on threshold screening of Monte Carlo simulations using so-called informal likelihood measures and subjective acceptance criterion. READ MORE

5. The Business Value of BIM : Elaborating on Content and Perspective
Abstract : The expectations on digitalization and Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) are high. The high expectations are reflected in an increasing interest for the term business value of BIM. READ MORE
