  1. 1. Supramolecular chemistry based on redox-active components and cucurbit[n]urils

    Author : Samir Andersson; Licheng Professor; Werner Nau; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cucurbit[n]uril; redox-active; viologen; light-driven; water oxidation; molecular motor; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the host-guest chemistry between Cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) and CB[8] and a series of guests including bispyridinium cations, phenols and  napthalenes. These guests are bound to ruthenium polypyridine complexes or ruthenium based water oxidation catalysts (WOCs). READ MORE

  2. 2. Genes and Physiological Role of the Eukaryotic Nicotinamide Nucleotide Transhydrogenase

    Author : Eva Lagberg Arkblad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Celegans; cDNA; gene structure; transhydrogenase; A acetabulum; expression pattern; NAD P H; deletion mutant; chromosomal localisation; methyl viologen;

    Abstract : Nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT, EC 1.6.1. READ MORE

  3. 3. Electrochemical Studies of Redox Properties and Diffusion in Self-Assembled Systems

    Author : Johan Kostela; Mats Almgren; Maja Elmgren; Martin Malmsten; Renata Bilewicz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; electrochemistry; self-assembly; bicontinuos cubic phase; redox potential; diffusion; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis electron transfer reactions and diffusion of redox molecules in three different types of self-aggregated structures are investigated. Electrochemistry was used to investigate the redox potential and diffusion coefficients for redox active molecules with different polarity. The first aggregate system studied was the micellar phase. 4. 4. Ruthenium complexes and substituted polypyridines in photophysical and electron transfer studies

    Author : Thomas Norrby; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Organic molecules acting as electron acceptors and ligandsfor metal complexes were synthesized. N-alkylation of4,4'-bipyridine and nicotinamide yielded electron transport andacceptor molecules. By regioselective functionalization of2,2'-bipyridine (bpy), several novel ligand molecules wereobtained. READ MORE

  5. 5. Biocatalysed redox reactions in aqueous and organic media

    Author : Mats Andersson; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PLS; coenzyme regeneration; bioelectrocatalysis; hydrogenase; chloroperoxidase; HLADH; Proteus vulgaris; Alcaligenes eutrophus; artificial electron mediator; D- S _chlorolactic acid; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals mainly with biocatalysed methods for stereoselective reduction. D-(S)-chlorolactic acid was produced by both microbial and electromicrobial reduction of chloropyruvate using whole cells of Proteus vulgaris and an artificial electron mediator. The electron donor was formate, hydrogen gas or the cathode in an electrochemical cell. READ MORE
