  1. 1. Proterozoic to Quaternary Events of Fracture Mineralisation and Oxidation in SE Sweden

    Author : Henrik Drake; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fracture minerals; low-temperature evolution; paleohydrogeology; redox front; wall rock alteration; stable isotopes; geochemistry; Ar-Ar dating; fluid inclusions; Mössbauer spectroscopy; U-series disequilibrium; Simpevarp; Laxemar; SE Sweden; nuclear waste repository.;

    Abstract : Fracture minerals and altered wall rock have been analysed to reveal the low-temperature evolution, especially regarding redox conditions, of the Simpevarp area, SE Sweden. This area is one of the two areas in Sweden investigated by the Swedish Nuclear fuel and Waste Management Co. READ MORE

  2. 2. Low temperature evolution in Forsmark, central Sweden - based on fracture minerals and wall rock alteration

    Author : Björn Sandström; Göteborgs universitet; []

  3. 3. Fluid migration and brittle tectonothermal evolution in the central Fennoscandian Shield - recorded by fracture minerals and wall rock alteration

    Author : Björn Sandström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The Forsmark area in central Sweden has been investigated as a potential geological host for a final repository of spent nuclear fuel by the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company (SKB). High quality drill core material from the upper 1 km of the central Fennoscandian Shield has been obtained during the site investigations and has provided a unique opportunity for detailed fracture mineralogical investigations. 4. 4. Geology, alterations and mineral chemistry of the Tjårrojåkka Fe-oxide Cu-Au occurrences, northern Sweden

    Author : Åsa Edfelt; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Abstract : The Tjårrojåkka area is located about 50 km WSW of Kiruna, northern Sweden, and hosts one of the best examples of spatially related Fe-oxide Cu-Au occurrences (the Tjårrojåkka-Fe and Tjårrojåkka-Cu). The bedrock, depositional environment and tectonic evolution of the area were studied through petrological, geochemical and geophysical-petrophysical investigations. READ MORE

  5. 5. Agpaitic Rocks of the Norra Kärr Alkaline Complex: Chemistry, Origin, and Age of Eudialyte-hosted Zirconium and Rare-earth Element Ore

    Author : Axel S.L. Sjöqvist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Norra Kärr alkaline complex; agpaitic rocks; eudialyte; rare-earth elements; geochronology; radiogenic isotope geochemistry;

    Abstract : Agpaites are peralkaline nepheline syenites that are denominated by rock-forming complex silicate minerals such as eudialyte. The exotic mineralogy and chemistry of these rocks are not only interesting for research, but globally these rocks also have potential as polymetallic resources of elements such as zirconium, niobium, rare-earth elements, zinc, and uranium.
