  1. 21. Ru-Based Water Oxidation Catalysts : Development and Mechanistic Studies

    Author : Andrey Shatskiy; Björn Åkermark; Martin Albrecht; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ruthenium; catalysis; water oxidation; artificial photosynthesis; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : Oxidation of water constitutes one of the most challenging processes in artificial photosynthesis, which aims at storing solar energy in the form of chemical bonds of high-energy fuels. To facilitate this process, efficient and durable water oxidation catalysts have to be developed and integrated into the complete photosynthetic cells. READ MORE

  2. 22. Investigations intothe crystallization of butyl paraben

    Author : Huaiyu Yang; Åke Rasmuson; Mårten Behm; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Butyl paraben; Solubility; Thermodynamic; Activity; Activity coefficient; Second order correlation; Liquid-liquid phase separation; Ternary phase diagram; Nucleation; Induction time; Free energy; Interfacial energy; Nuclei critical radius Cooling crystallization; Evaporation crystallization; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : In thisproject, solubility of butyl paraben in 7 puresolvents and 5 ethanol aqueous solvents has been determined at from 1 ℃to 50 ℃. Thermodynamic properties of butyl paraben have been measured by DifferentialScanning Calorimetey. READ MORE

  3. 23. Gill EROD Activity in Fish : A Biomarker for Waterborne Ah-receptor Agonists

    Author : Alexandra Abrahamson; Ingvar Brandt; Björn Brunström; Janneche Utne Skaare; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Biology; biomarker; fish; gill; CYP1A; EROD; environmental monitoring; induction; inhibition; PAH; PCB; produced water; Biologi;

    Abstract : Induction of the cytochrome P450(CYP)1A protein and the connected increase in 7-ethoxyresorufin O-deethylase (EROD) activity are common biomarkers in fish. Enhanced activity of this protein signals exposure to Ah-receptor agonists such as chlorinated dioxins, co-planar polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and certain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). 4. 24. Pressurised Fluid Extraction of Bioactive Species in Tree Barks : Analysis using Hyphenated Electrochemical Mass Spectrometric Detection

    Author : Michelle Co; Charlotta Turner; Per J.R Sjöberg; Kari Hartonen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pressurised fluid extraction; antioxidants; DPPH; water; ethanol; antioxidant activity; antioxidant capacity; electrochemial detection; mass spektrometry; Chemistry; Kemi; Analytical Chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Analytical chemistry has developed throughout time to meet current needs. At present, the interest in biorefinery is growing, due to environmental awareness and the depletion of fossil resources. Biomass from agricultural and forestry industries has proven to be excellent raw material for different processes. READ MORE
