1. Transmission of waves through elastic and viscoelastic junctions
Abstract : Transmission of extensional waves through elastic and viscoelastic junctions between elastic and collinear bars have been studied theoretically and experimentally. The models used can be interpreted also for other types of waves (e.g. dilatational waves, shear waves, electromagnetic waves) and systems. READ MORE

2. Dynamic Characteristics of Floating Breakwaters
Abstract : The dynamic behaviour of interconnected floating breakwaters has been studied theoretically and experimentally. For this type of shore-protection system, problems that must be dealt with include wave loads on the breakwaters caused by the interaction between the bodies and the waves, motions of the moored breakwaters caused by the waves, changed wave fields in front of and behind the breakwaters, and forces on the mooring cables and in interconnections between breakwater units. 4. Scattering on the Timoshenko Beam. Direct and Inverse Problems in the Time Domain
Abstract : This thesis concerns the use of time domain methods for treating direct and inverse scattering problems for flexural waves on beams. The Timoshenko equation is used throughout to describe the behaviour of such waves. READ MORE

5. On focusing of shock waves
Abstract : Both experimental and numerical investigations of converging shock waves have been performed. In the experiments, a shock tube was used to create and study converging shock waves of various geometrical shapes. Two methods were used to create polygonally shaped shocks. READ MORE
