1. Wave-actuated Preform Infiltration Routines in MMC Production
Abstract : The implementation of highly magnetostrictive wave-actuator techniques in preform infiltration processes for metal-matrix composite production is described. Metal matrix materials require additional methods to handle the content, shape and position of the ceramic reinforcements, which are not required for metal alloy casting. READ MORE

2. Attenuation of hand-held machine vibrations. Application of non-linear tuned vibration absorber
Abstract : Vibration injury in the hand-arm system from vibrating hand-held machines is one of the most common occupational health injuries and causes severe and often chronic nerve and vascular injuries to the operator. The objective with this study is to contribute to reduce hand-arm vibration injuries, first by developing methods of redesigning machines that will lower their vibration level and second to study how high frequency vibrations (HFV) above 1250 Hz effect the finger tissue which are not included in the current standard for risk evaluation. 3. On Ground and Structural Vibrations Related to Railway Traffic
Abstract : The continuous development and integration of railway infrastructure, especially within urban areas, can cause ground and building vibrations to reach levels that bring discomfort to people. The growing risk of damage to buildings located in areas prone to ground vibration should not be underestimated. READ MORE

4. Waveguide Finite Elements Applied on a Car Tyre
Abstract : Structures acting as waveguides are quite common withexamples being, construction beams, fluid filled pipes, railsand extruded aluminium profiles. Curved structures like cartyres and pipe-bends may also be considered as waveguides. Wavesolutions in such structures may be found by a method calledthe Waveguide Finite Element Method or WFEM. 5. On the Modelling of Train Induced Ground Vibrations with Analytical Methods
Abstract : A novel analytical approach to model train induced ground vibrations is proposed. Integral transform solutions are combined with series solutions to obtain fast numericalalgorithms, where a particular designed boundary condition for finite regions is seen to enable the solution procedure.
