  1. 1. Autonomous Localization in Unknown Environments

    Author : Jonas Callmer; Fredrik Gustafsson; Paul Havinga; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Localization; indoor positioning; heading estimation; magnetometers;

    Abstract : Over the last 20 years, navigation has almost become synonymous with satellite positioning, e.g. the Global Positioning System (GPS). On land, sea or in the air, on the road or in a city, knowing ones position is a question of getting a clear line of sight to enough satellites. READ MORE

  2. 2. Exact Results in Five-Dimensional Gauge Theories : On Supersymmetry, Localization and Matrix Models

    Author : Anton Nedelin; Joseph Minahan; Ivan Kostov; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supersymmetric localization; Matrix Models; Chern-Simons theory; Supersymmetric Field Theories; 2; 0 theories; Theoretical Physics; Teoretisk fysik;

    Abstract : Gauge theories are one of the corner stones of modern theoretical physics. They describe the nature of all fundamental interactions and have been applied in multiple branches of physics. The most challenging problem of gauge theories, which has not been solved yet, is their strong coupling dynamics. READ MORE

  3. 3. Effects of the Spin-Orbit Interaction on Transport and Optical Properties of III-V Semiconductor Quantum Wells

    Author : Vladimir Froltsov; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spin-orbit interaction; quantum well; III-V; Raman scattering; magnetoresistance; weak localization; spin distribution; magnetic field; Fysik; Physics; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Froltsov; Halvledarfysik; Semiconductory physics; semiconductor;

    Abstract : Effects of the intrinsic electron spin-orbit interaction on transport and optical properties of III-V semiconductor quantum wells have been studied theoretically. It is shown that due to crystal anisotropy of this interaction, the weak localization magnetoresistance in a magnetic field parallel to interfaces is very sensitive to the epitaxy growth direction and also to the orientation of the magnetic field with respect to the crystal axes. 4. 4. Magnetotransport characterization of epitaxial graphene on SiC

    Author : Samuel Lara Avila; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum metrology; weak localization; magnetotransport; quantum Hall effect; many-electron systems; epitaxial graphene;

    Abstract : Low-temperature magnetotransport is used to characterize graphene grown epitaxially on the silicon face of 4H silicon carbide (SiC/G). Observation of half-integer quantum Hall effect (QHE) in large Hall bars, patterned across several terraces of the SiC substrate, suggest that monolayer graphene grows continuously over defects. 5. 5. The Adenovirus L4-33K Protein : A Key Regulator of Virus-specific Alternative Splicing

    Author : Heidi Törmänen Persson; Göran Akusjärvi; Stefan Schwartz; Marie Öhman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; L4-33K; adenovirus; splicing; phosphorylation; localization; replication centers; L4-22K; MLTU; DNA-PK; DNA-dependent protein kinase; PKA; cAMP-dependent protein kinase; transcription sites; SR protein; Medical Virology; Medicinsk virologi;

    Abstract : Adenoviruses have been extensively studied in the field of gene regulation, since their genes are subjected to a tightly controlled temporal expression during the virus lifetime. The early-to-late shift in adenoviral gene expression distinguishes two completely different programs in gene expression. READ MORE
