  1. 1. Core Level Spectroscopy of Water and Ice

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Fysikum

    Author : Dennis Nordlund; Stockholms universitet.; [2004]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; x-ray adsorption spectroscopy; photoemission spectroscopy; x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; platinum; x-ray emission spectroscopy; density functional theory; hydrogen-bonded; H-bond; water; ice; electronic structure; excited state dynamics; proton dynamics; water adsorption; liquid water;

    Abstract : A core level spectroscopy study of ice and water is presented in this thesis. Combining a number of experiments and spectrum calculations based on density functional theory, changes in the local valence electronic structure are shown to be sensitive to the local H-bonding configurations. 2. 2. Metal-Organic Complexes at Surfaces

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Fysikum

    Author : Cristina Isvoranu; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2010]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; x-ray absorption spectroscopy; bi-isonicotinic acid; oxalic acid; spin change; gas adsorption; metal-organic complex; iron phthalocyanine; scanning tunneling spectroscopy; resonant photoemission spectroscopy;

    Abstract : The adsorption of different metal-organic complexes at surfaces was investigated by spectroscopic techniques (x-ray photoemission spectroscopy, x-ray absorption spectroscopy, resonant photoemission spectroscopy) and by scanning tunnelling microscopy. The investigation methods are able to provide atomic scale information on the studied systems, which moreover originates from the top-most atomic layers in a sample, meaning that they are surface sensitive techniques. University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Katharina Nilson; Uppsala universitet.; [2007]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Atomic and molecular physics; Phthalocyanines; Surface Science; X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy XPS ; X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy XAS ; Scanning Tunneling Microscopy STM ; Density Functional Theory DFT ; Metal-free Phthalocyanine; Iron Phthalocyanine; Zinc Phthalocyanine; Gold; Graphite; Aluminium; Indium Antimony; Molecular adsorption; Monolayer; Film; Alkali; Geometrical structure; Electronic structure; Doping; Atom- och molekylfysik;

    Abstract : The Phthalocyanines (Pc’s) are a group of macro-cyclic molecules, widely investigated due to the possibility to use them in a variety of applications. Electronic and geometrical structure investigations of molecular model systems of Pc’s adsorbed on surfaces are important for a deeper understanding of the functionality of different Pc-based devices. University dissertation from Karlstad : Karlstads universitet

    Author : Somsakul Watcharinyanon; Karlstads universitet.; [2008]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Self-assembled monolayer SAMs ; X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy XPS ; Near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure NEXAFS spectroscopy; Infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy IRRAS ; contact angle measurements; Kelvin probe measurements; oligo phenyleneethynylene OPE ; Porphyrin-functionalized OPE; Tetraphenylporphyrin; Ferrocene-terminated alkanethiol; thiol; silane; Au 111 ; Fysik; Physics;

    Abstract : Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) provide well-defined and ordered films of molecules spontaneously chemisorbed on a surface. By designing molecules with desired functionalities, such molecular film can be interesting for a range of applications from molecular electronics to catalysis. READ MORE
