Smoothing and adaptive remeshing schemes for graded element

University dissertation from Luleå : Luleå tekniska universitet

Abstract: The objective of the present work is to develop mesh smoothing and adaptive remeshing schemes to improve the Finite Element Analysis. Smoothing and adaptive remeshing techniques are studied for graded element. Different smoothing techniques are implemented and shown. The adaptive remeshing scheme are described and applied both for mechanical and thermal analysis. Comparisons of final results show a computational efficiency to use smoothing and adaptive remeshing schemes. This licentiate thesis comprises 3 appended papers with an introduction.
