  1. 1. Improved Quality Assurance of Fatigue Loaded Structures - The Necessary Shift from Technology Focus towards Information Driven Weld Evaluation

    Author : Anna Öberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; lean; fatigue; NDT; information; inspection; control; assurance; six sigma; quality; weld;

    Abstract : The research has shown that the insufficient use of process information leads to unnecessary and costly safety margins in each step of production. This is, in short term, affecting the productivity of the company. Even more serious is the effect that insufficient use of process information has on product and process development in the long term. READ MORE

  2. 2. Treeline dynamics in short and long term perspectives : observational and historical evidence from the southern Swedish Scandes

    Author : Lisa Öberg; Bengt-Gunnar Jonsson; Leif Kullman; Aage Paus; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : Betula pubescens ssp. czerepanovii; Picea abies; Pinus sylvestris; Larix sibirica; climate; Betula pubescens ssp. czerepanovii; Picea abies; Pinus sylvestris; Larix sibirica;

    Abstract : Treelines in high-mountain regions are constrained by heat deficiency, although the working mechanisms are still not entirely understood. Observational and paleoecological studies on treeline performance may contribute to increased understanding of the treeline phenomenon in general. READ MORE

  3. 3. β-adrenergic signalling and novel effects in skeletal muscle

    Author : Anette I. Öberg; Tore Bengtsson; Jon Arch; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; fysiologi; Physiology;

    Abstract : Skeletal muscles have, due to their large mass, a big impact on the whole body metabolism. There are many signals that can regulate the functions of skeletal muscles and one such signal is activation of α- and β-adrenoceptors (α- and β-ARs) by epinephrine and norepinephrine. READ MORE

  4. 4. Novel Circulating and Tissue Biomarkers for Small Intestine Neuroendocrine Tumors and Lung Carcinoids

    Author : Tao Cui; Valeria Giandomenico; Kjell Öberg; Apostolos V. Tsolakis; Marco Volante; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; small intestine neuroendocrine tumors; lung carcinoids; Ma2 autoantibodies; immunohistochemistry; olfactory receptor 51E1; blood samples; antibody suspension bead array; 小肠神经内分泌肿瘤,肺类癌,Ma2自身抗体,免疫组化,嗅觉受体蛋白51E1, 血液样本,抗体悬浮磁珠阵列; Endokrinologi och Diabetologi; Endocrinology and Diabetology; Lung Medicine; Lungmedicin; Molecular Biology; Molekylärbiologi; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Abstract : Small intestine neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs) and lung carcinoids (LCs) are relatively indolent tumors, which originate from neuroendocrine (NE) cells of the diffuse NE system. Metastases can spread before diagnosis. Thus, potential cures become unavailable, which entitles new biomarker development. READ MORE

  5. 5. Exercise treatment of patients with long-standing subacromial pain

    Author : Theresa Holmgren; Birgitta Öberg; Kajsa Johansson; Lars Adolfsson; Jon Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Subacromial pain is the most common problem among patients with shoulder complaints seeking primary care. The recommended treatment for these patients is primarily non-surgical with a focus on exercise treatment. If this treatment fails arthroscopic subacromial decompression (ASD) followed by exercise treatment is recommended. READ MORE
