  2. 2. Necrotising Enterocolitis epidemiology and imaging

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Author : Margareta Ahle; Roland Andersson; Peder Drott; Örjan Smedby; Hans Ringertz; Tomas Wester; [2017]
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) is a potentially devastating intestinal inflammation of multifactorial aetiology in premature or otherwise vulnerable neonates. Because of the broad spectrum of presentations, diagnosis and timing of surgical intervention may be challenging, and imaging needs to be an integrated part of management. READ MORE

  3. 3. Measurement and source apportionment of ubiquitous soot black carbon in sediments

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Institutionen för tillämpad miljövetenskap (ITM)

    Author : Marie Elmquist; Örjan Gustafsson; Per Andersson; Wulf Amelung; [2007]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Environmental chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Miljökemi; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Abstract : The pyrogenic particles formed from incomplete combustion of organic matter are often termed black carbon (BC) and they partake in many important biogeochemical processes. For instance, BC in water and sediment affects the solid-water partitioning of hydrophobic organic pollutants reducing their bioavailability. READ MORE

  4. 4. No environmental problem is an island : Aligning networks of transboundary collaboration to complex policy issue interdependencies

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Stockholm University

    Author : Johanna Hedlund; Örjan Bodin; Daniel Nohrstedt; Erik Andersson; [2019]

    Abstract : In recent times, societal and environmental problems have been exhibiting a growing interconnectedness and interdependency. Based on the idea of institutional fit, interdependency on a problem level should be preferably matched with governance arrangements for effective problem-solving. READ MORE

  5. 5. Compound-specific stable chlorine isotope analysis : A versatile tool for investigating biochemical and geochemical processes of organochlorine substances

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Institutionen för tillämpad miljövetenskap (ITM)

    Author : Henry Holmstrand; Per Andersson; Örjan Gustafsson; Neil Sturchio; [2006]

    Abstract : Chlorinated organic compounds (OCls) from anthropogenic sources are generally considered to be a class of chemicals with high potential for ecotoxicity, including infamous substances such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), dichloro-dibenzo-trichloroethane (DDT) and polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD). OCls are also produced naturally, sometimes at the same order of magnitude as anthropogenic compounds. READ MORE
