1. Protein Dynamics Studied by NMR. Kinetics of the Adipocyte Fatty Acid-Binding Protein and Oligomerisation of the Low Molecular Weight Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase
Abstract : Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) has been used to determine the kinetics of ligand binding to the adipocyte fatty acid-binding protein (A-FABP), as well as the oligomerisation and inter- and intramolecular dynamics of the low molecular weight-protein tyrosine phosphatase (LMW-PTP) in solution. NMR spectroscopy is sensitive to dynamic processes on timescales ranging from picoseconds to days. READ MORE

2. Uterine Remodeling During Pregnancy - Studies on the Effect of Heparin/Heparan Sulfate
Abstract : During pregnancy, the uterine tissues must go through a major transformation to be able to first hold the growing fetus and then, at term, expel it through the opened birth canal (cervix). It is a requirement for successful labor that there is adequate cervical softening combined with effective myometrial contractions. READ MORE

3. GDNF family ligands and neural stem cells in Parkinson's disease
Abstract : Parkinson's disease (PD) is a very common neurodegenerative disorder, characterized by a progressive degeneration of mainly nigrostriatal and mesolimbic dopaminergic neurons leading to tremor, rigidity and hypokinesia, the classical symptoms of the disease. Degeneration of noradrenergic neurons of the locus coeruleus are also involved in the progression of the disease, causing dementia and depression. READ MORE

4. Cerebral biomarkers in women with preeclampsia
Abstract : Preeclampsia and eclampsia are among the most common causes of maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity worldwide. There are no reliable means to predict eclampsia or cerebral edema in women with preeclampsia and knowledge of the brain involvement in preeclampsia is still limited. READ MORE

5. Pre-eclampsia – Possible to Predict? : A Biochemical and Epidemiological Study of Pre-eclampsia
Abstract : Pre-eclampsia is a major cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. A predictor of pre-eclampsia would enable intervention, close surveillance and timely delivery, and thereby reduce the negative consequences of the disorder. READ MORE
