  1. 1. Communities of practice or communities of discipline : managing deviations at the Öresund Bridge

    Author : Andrew Schenkel; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Large infrastructure projects are seldom completed on time or on budget. Unlike many other projects of this type, the construction of the Øresund Bridge was considered to be a successful infrastructure project. Since no plan can foresee all events, deviations from plans arise, and these have to be managed as they appear during construction. READ MORE

  2. 2. Non-Linear Vibration and Dynamic Fracture Mechanics of Bridge Cables

    Author : Armando Leon; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cable Vibrations; Non-Linear Vibration; Dynamic Fracture Mechanics; Cable-Stayed Bridges; Dynamic Stress Intensity Factor;

    Abstract : In the present work, the non-linear vibrations and the corresponding dynamic fracture mechanics of cables of cable-stayed bridges are studied. The cables are among the most critical components in cable-stayed bridges and there are different damage sources such as corrosion, vibration, fatigue and fretting fatigue that can significantly affect them, thereby reducing the cable’s service life and even producing their failure. 3. 3. Spatial computable general equilibrium modelling : static and dynamic approaches

    Author : Marcus Sundberg; Lars Lundqvist; Lars Westin; KTH; []
    Keywords : SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns both static and dynamic modeling in a spatial computable general equilibrium setting. First, we have applied a static framework for the assessment of economic impacts of the Öresund bridge. Secondly, we make an attempt to enhance the static framework through the introduction of economic dynamics. READ MORE
