  1. 16. Nanoscale YBa2Cu3O7-δ devices -Searching for a subdominant order parameter using a single electron transistor

    Author : David Gustafsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; grain boundary; Josephson junctions; YBCO; single electron transistors; high temperature superconductivity;

    Abstract : The microscopic origin of High critical Temperature Superconductivity (HTS) is still an open issue in condensed matter physics. It is believed that by exlporing the quasiparticle energy spectrum one can learn about the mechanism promoting the superconducting state. READ MORE

    Abstract : Autosomal recessive congenital ichthyosis (ARCI) is a rare monogenetic disorder characterized by a defective skin barrier, hyperkeratosis, and dry, scaly skin. It affects keratinocyte differentiation and is caused by mutations in any of at least 12 genes believed to control the formation of ω-O-acylceramide and the corneocyte lipid envelope (CLE): ABCA12, ALOXE3, ALOX12B, CERS3, CYP4F22, ELOVL4, LIPN, NIPAL4, PNPLA1, SDR9C7, SLC27A4, and TGM1. 4. 19. Improving our understanding of carbon cycling in agroecosystems by studying δ¹³C signatures in soil carbon stocks and fluxes : results from a Swedish long-term field experiment

    Author : Lorenzo Menichetti; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Soil carbon (C) storage has gained much attention in the past decade due to its potentially huge impact on climate change mechanisms. Particular focus has been paid to possible feedback mechanisms, whether soil can be considered a sink or source of C and how soils can be managed in order to mitigate climate change. READ MORE

  5. 20. Post-treatment of Alloy 718 produced by electron beam melting

    Author : Sneha Goel; Shrikant V. Joshi; Uta Klement; Högskolan Väst; []

    Abstract : Electron beam melting (EBM), a metal additive manufacturing (AM) process, has received considerable industrial attention for near net shape manufacture of complex geometries with traditionally difficult-to-machine materials. This has fuelled considerable academic interest in investigating EBM of Alloy 718, a nickel ironbased superalloy possessing an exciting combination of good mechanical behaviour and cost effectiveness.
