  1. 1. Search for new Phenomena in Dijet Angular Distributions at √s = 8 and 13 TeV

    Author : Lene Bryngemark; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ATLAS; LHC; quark compositeness; dark matter; pile-up; quantum black holes; Contact Interactions; 13 TeV; 8 TeV; beyond the Standard Model; angular distributions; dijets; Jets;

    Abstract : A new energy regime has recently become accessible in collisions at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Abundant in hadron collisions, the two-jet final state explores the structure of the constituents of matter and the possible emergence of new forces of nature, in the largest momentum transfer collisions produced. 2. 2. Searches for new phenomena in inclusive and tagged dijet distributions at √s = 13 TeV

    Author : Trine Poulsen; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Dijets are produced in abundance at the Large Hadron Collider as predicted by quantum chromodynamics (QCD). However, several theories beyond the Standard Model of Particle Physics predicts new phenomena, which also result in dijet final states. This thesis presents searches for such new phenomena using different techniques. READ MORE

  3. 3. Study of Ξ-Hadron Correlations in pp Collisions at √s = 13 TeV Using the ALICE Detector

    Author : Jonatan Adolfsson; Fysiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LHC; ALICE; quark gluon plasma; small systems; pp collisions; strangeness enhancement; correlations;

    Abstract : By colliding heavy nuclei at high energies, which is done at RHIC and the LHC, a strongly interacting Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) is created. This manifests itself through several different signatures, which until recently was thought to uniquely probe the QGP. READ MORE

  4. 4. The Shape of Strangeness: Transverse Spherocity and Underlying Event studies of φ and its relation to Ξ in √s = 13 TeV pp collisions

    Author : Adrian Nassirpour; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LHC; ALICE; Quark-Gluon Plasma; small systems; pp collisions; underlying event; event-shape engineering; transverse activity; strangeness enhancement; resonance production; Fysicumarkivet A:2022:Nassirpour;

    Abstract : Through ultrarelativistic particle collisions at the LHC, it is possible to deconfine quarks and gluons. This deconfinement gives rise to a strongly interacting medium, referred to as the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). READ MORE

  5. 5. Identified Hadron Production as a Function of Event Multiplicity and Transverse Spherocity in pp Collisions at √s = 7 and 13 TeV with the ALICE Detector

    Author : Vytautas Vislavicius; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LHC; ALICE; small systems; QGP; collectivity; multiplicity; spherocity; event shapes; pp collisions; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Vislavicius;

    Abstract : This study reports on identified hadron production as a function of event multiplicity (dNch/dη) and transverse spherocity (SO) in proton-proton collisions at √s = 7 and 13 TeV measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The particle spectra and their ratios measured in high-multiplicity events show signatures of an expanding medium. READ MORE
