  1. 1. Zinc Oxide Nanostructure Based Electrochemical Sensors and Drug Delivery to Intracellular Environments

    Author : Muhammad Asif; Magnus Willander; Omer Nour; Sunil Bhand; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ZnO nanorods; Intracellular electrochemical sensor; Functionalization; Metal ions; Glucose; Human Adipocytes; Frog Oocytes; Airway surface liquid; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : The nanoscale science and nanostructure engineering have well established in the fabrication of novel electrochemical biosensors with faster response and higher sensitivity than of planar sensor configurations. Moreover nanostructures are suggested and used as efficient carrier of photosensitizers for cancerous cell treatment. READ MORE

  2. 2. Aspects of system-on-chip design for FPGAs

    Author : Andreas Ehliar; Lars Svensson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Due to the increasing NRE costs of recent ASICs, the use of FPGAs is expected to continue to increase. While the first FPGAs were limited devices useful mainly for glue logic, todays FPGAs are highly capable devices used in many different application areas including telecommunication, multimedia, medical, and automotive. 3. 3. Signaling via Orexin Receptors : A Pharmacological Study

    Author : Tomas Holmqvist; Jyrki Kukkonen; Karl Åkerman; Gunnar Flemström; Per Svenningsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physiology; orexin; receptors; calcium; cAMP; adenylyl cyclases; Fysiologi; Physiology; Fysiologi;

    Abstract : The orexin receptors are a pair of newly discovered G-protein coupled receptors which are activated by the neuropeptides orexins and play a role in sleep/vigilance, apetite/metabolism and neuroendocrine regulation. On a cellular level receptor activation results in, to name but a few effects, elevation of intracellular calcium and depolarisation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Epidemiology, Radiology and Histology of Atypical Femoral Fractures : Development of understanding

    Author : Jörg Schilcher; Per Aspenberg; Ingemar Ivarsson; Karl Michaëlsson; Olle Svensson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICINE;

    Abstract : Bisphosphonates have been used successfully in the prevention of osteoporosis-related fractures for over two decades. Only recently an association between bisphosphonate use and femoral insufficiency fractures – atypical femoral fractures – has been found.Bone remodeling is necessary to maintain a healthy skeleton. 5. 5. We belong to them : Narratives of belonging, homeland and nationhood in territorial and non territorial minority settings

    Author : Tünde Puskás; Rune Johansson; Yngve Lithman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Everyday ethnicity; long-distance nationalism; Hungarian nation politics; ethnic and national identifications; Hungarians in Slovakia; Hungarians in Sweden; homeland narratives; language ideologies and language dilemmas; Vardagsetnicitet; distansnationalism; ungersk nationspolitik; etniska och nationella identifikationer; ungrare i Slovakien; ungrare i Sverige; hemlandsberättelser; språkideologier och språkdilemman; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This dissertation explores what happens with ethnic and national identifications buiit on the same ethnocultural grounds, but under different socio-economic circumstances. Territorial and nonterritorial minorities have traditionally been considered non-comparable because it was assumed that groups organized on different grounds were distinctively separate phenomena.
