  1. 1. Quantitative cardiac 15O-water PET : Assessment of left-ventricular function, remodeling, and impact of patient motion

    Author : Jonny Nordström; Mark Lubberink; Jens Sörensen; Hendrik J Harms; Stephan Nekolla; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; positron emission tomography PET ; 15O-water; myocardial blood flow; cardiac remodeling; patient motion;

    Abstract : International guidelines advocate the use of noninvasive cardiac imaging as the initial diagnostic test for coronary artery disease, the global leading cause of death according to the world health organization. Within the wide spectrum of cardiac imaging, 15O-water PET is the gold standard for noninvasive quantification of myocardial blood flow (MBF). READ MORE

  2. 2. Methodological aspects of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging

    Author : Tanja Kero; Mark Lubberink; Håkan Ahlström; Elin Trägårdh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : PET; cardiac amyloidosis; 11C-PIB; retention index; standardized uptake value; PET-MR; MRI; myocardial blood flow; 15O-water; quantification; quantitative modeling;

    Abstract : The objective of this research was to facilitate the use of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging by developing and validating methods and applications. More specifically:we determined the optimal tracer kinetic model for analysis of 11C-PIB and evaluated the performance of two simpler measures, retention index (RI) and standardized uptake value (SUV), in the quantification of cardiac 11C-PIB uptake in amyloidosis. 3. 3. On potentials and limitations of perfusion MRI in neurological disorders

    Author : Markus Fahlström; Mark Lubberink; Adam Espe Hansen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurological disease; MRI; Perfusion; 15O-water PET; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Abstract : Cerebral perfusion outlines several parameters which describe the status of cerebral haemodynamics. Numerous neurological diseases affect cerebral perfusion, thus the importance of diagnostic measurements. READ MORE

  4. 4. Evaluation of Regularized Image Reconstruction for Clinical Positron Emission Tomography

    Author : Elin Lindström; Mark Lubberink; Jens Sörensen; Anders Sundin; Anne Larsson Strömvall; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Positron emission tomography; PET CT; molecular imaging; image reconstruction; regularized reconstruction; quantification; oncology; neurology; cardiology; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Abstract : Positron emission tomography (PET) combined with computed tomography (CT) is a widely used noninvasive molecular imaging modality with a broad range of clinical applications in oncology, neurology, and cardiology. Producing imperative image quality and accurate quantification are important driving forces behind the technological advances within PET image reconstruction and system development. READ MORE

  5. 5. Improved adrenocortical PET imaging

    Author : Isabella Silins; Peter Stålberg; Per Hellman; Gunnar Antoni; Anders Sundin; Azita Monazzam; Håkan Geijer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Introduction: Adrenal tumours can either be benign or malignant, hormone secreting or not, and they can be discovered through clinical examination of the patient or by pure chance. Increased knowledge in the area, plus the widespread use of imaging techniques, have resulted in a rising number of patients with adrenal tumours that subsequently need to be diagnosed.
