1. Susceptibility effects in MRI and 1H MRS. The spurious echo artifact and susceptibility measurements
Abstract : When performing magnetic resonance (MR) experiments, a strong homogeneous magnetic field is often preferred, especially in clinical applications. However, all objects that are placed in the magnetic field will disturb the field homogeneity and cause local magnetic field gradients. READ MORE

2. Multi-functional Hyaluronan Based Biomaterials for Biomedical Applications
Abstract : This thesis presents strategies for constructing multi-functional biomaterials based on hyaluronan (HA) derivatives for various biomedical applications, such as drug delivery, tissue regeneration, and imaging biomaterials. The aim of this study is to improve the functionalities of HA biomaterials as well as simplify the preparation procedures. READ MORE

3. The hygrothermal inertia of massive timber connstructions
Abstract : The work presented in this Doctoral dissertation concerns the ability of heavy timber structures to passively reduce the fluctuations of the indoor temperature and of the indoor relative humidity, through the dynamic process of heat and moisture storage in wood. We make the hypothesis that the potential offered by the hygrothermal inertia of heavy timber structures is significant, and that it could provide a passive way of regulating the indoor climate. 4. Quantitative Magnetic Resonance in Diffuse Neurological and Liver Disease
Abstract : Introduction: Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is one of the most important diagnostic tools in modern medicine. Compared to other imaging modalities, it provides superior soft tissue contrast of all parts of the body and it is considered to be safe for patients. READ MORE

5. Immunological Mechanisms and Natalizumab Treatment in Multiple Sclerosis : Studies on lymphocytes, inflammatory markers and magnetic resonance spectroscopy
Abstract : Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory, demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS), and a frequent cause of neurological disability among young adults. In addition to focal inflammatory demyelinated lesions, diffuse white matter pathology as well as a neurodegenerative component with accumulating axonal damage and gliosis have been demonstrated and contribute to MS disease characteristics.
